The agent is correct. Status match only gives you upgrades for the first 12 months. After the 12 months, the upgrade privilege has to be re-earn annually. This requirement has been in place for at least several years.

**Subject to availability, not valid for long-term rentals, special cars, motorcycles or trucks. The possibility of receiving an upgrade is only valid for up to 12 months from the issue date of the card. This advantage remains valid when you rent more than 10 times per 12 months with Sixt. Applies to residents of Belgium, Spain, France, UK, the Netherlands and the USA only. For residents of all other countries, 20 or more rentals apply.

Sixt forced DCC charges at London Heathrow

I never have this problem with other rental companies.

I had the same problem with Sixt at London Heathrow. When I got home from a four week rental in the UK they sent me an invoice stating that I chose to pay in USD. In fact, I did NOT choose to pay in USD. I was my intention and understanding that I would be paying in GBP. I CHOSE to have the currency conversion transacted by Mastercard. What does it take to avoid this scam?

Glad you're here. Quick question (I hope):
Renting at CDG in October, 4 adult travelers each with a (barely) legal carry-on bag, plus a couple of purses and maybe one school-size backpack.

I'm looking at reserving either a Renault Megane or a VW Passat wagon; manual shift is fine. Will either/both of these cars be big enough for the four of us with the 4 carry-on bags? (I had a Volvo V70 a few years back and it worked out ok if that helps get a required size comparison) If not, what cars in the French fleet will handle our party?
thanks,
ST

Both should be fine as it is a station wagon and you can stack as needed

Which cars with V8 engines has Sixt in the US fleet?
I only know about Cadillac Escalade in XFAR.

Thanks, blitzen. Not familiar with either car so couldn't be sure they weren't crossovers that don't have any rear cargo space.

Any ideas why the number of rentals before re-earning the status is so vary? I mean the difference between 10 and 20 rentals is quite big, both regarding cost for the member and the fact that you have to make 20 rentals in a year and have time for it. It is also quite unfair that a one-day rental will give you the same count to the status as a weekly and monthly. Just hope they see to that if lets say u are one or two rentals short when reaching 12 months and you have a lot of weekly and monthly instead of just day-rentals.

Hi SportsTech,

Apologies for the delay in reply.

I would recommend vehicle category 'CWMR', however if you wish for more of a roomy journey, any of the larger vehicles would be fine :)

Any other questions, let us know.

Best regards,

Emily
