Are there any 777's with 8 seats that use the new F or only the flights with 4 F seats?

There are 15 77Ws with the new (2013) product. Six of them are fitted with 8 F seats, and no PEY/S seats. The rest have 4 seats in F, but also have PEY.

So unless there is a last minute sub, my IAH-SIN won't have the new F (are there ever last minute subs)?

For the past week or so (and probably even well before then) SQ61 has flown only 77Ws fitted with the old product, which makes it seem very likely that your flight will not feature the new F.

You may get lucky and find yourself on a refitted 77W (and it need not necessarily be from a last-minute substitution, but that could be one circumstance where it happens), but I'd say your chances of that are only marginally higher than SQ offering you an op-up.

Well, since I'm hoping for the new F, it goes without saying I'm already flying F..................so there really is a ZERO chance I'd get offered an op up

Although, i'd give up my F seat to sit jumpseat behind the pilot. I'd love to do that one day...

Ha. I was thinking that, but I meant (though I'm sure you realise this) more an op-up from Y to J or J to F.

That being said, your chances of those op-ups with SQ are pretty much the same as your chance of an op-up from F with any airline, so maybe the distinction is moot...

I must be getting old. Before 9/11 i sat in the jump seat on almost every CX, EK, MH & BA (including Concorde) flights I took (SQ was hit or miss, plenty of times they had me up for landing on the old 744 but never for takeoff. As a smoker it was a double win as even though there were still smoking flights thru 2000 percent on some flights, most were not. MH, EK & SQ though allowed me to smoke as well back then in the cockpit

It was announced that the fleet replacement of B773ER will complete by end Sept 2016. Can we safely conclude that flights taken in late Aug onwards should come with the new hardware for B773ER planes?

Since there are still 12 aircraft remaining to be reconfigured, it seems fairly safe to assume that the originally announced timeline has slipped somewhat.

Hmm I am flying in late december this year, should I take the risk and go for the 77W? SQ212. It's always been the old 77W, but if the above link is true I might book it. Or maybe I should just go for A380. I'm flying F/R.

How is the service on the 4 seat F config?? I noticed there are 2 LAVs for 4 people (overkill much? . How many FA'S work F? I assume 2 during meal service and only 1 when they take their crew rests? Is the service as good, worse or better then the 8 seat F long hauls?
