Makes sense to turn to the experts before I invest 3 days surfing through Google.
Context: Expat US citizen lives in Thailand but holds a Krisflyer account and prefers SQ to other airlines. Question: Is there a credit card program out there for me? Cursory research indicates SQ doesn't have a credit card program for those not living in SG or Australia. Thoughts or suggestions? Greatly appreciate your time! If you click on the 'Credit and Charge Cards' link near the top (just under the tabs), it will show you all the partner banks around the world that can transfer points into KF. You can try any of the banks on that list with operations in Thailand. |

In Singapore, none of the co-branded cards ever come close to the best cards for miles (UOB Prvimiles, DBS Altitude, Maybank Horizon etc). |
I can't read Thai, but contact Citibank Thailand and see if they have a Premier Miles card there. I went to Citibank Thailand's website and see a little image that looks like my Citibank SG version of the card, but I can't read any of the Thai around it.
The Citi Premier Miles card available in Singapore lets you transfer miles to Kris, SkyMiles, Asia Miles, or Royal Orchid. If seems conceivable they could have a similar card there. |

Can't find any info about the ANZ card. Is this the one tied to the Signature Priority Banking? So does one have to join Priority Banking first to get it?
The website does not show much about what is the card about. neither can I find anything that states 3.2 miles/dollar anywhere |
Ceassation of enrolment into Maybank Rwards Infinite Programme
Hi guys, I just received my Maybank Singapore latest credit card statement and saw this at the end of the statement:
WEF 1 September 12, enrolment for the Rewards Infinite (RI) programme will be ceased. Existing RI members can continue to enjoy the benefits before expiry date. Also, look out for our refreshed RI programme in 2013! Hmmm.. my RI membership will expire in Nov 2012, I wonder what will happen after that if I cannot renew?? |
Can someone please tell me whether it is possible to pay my road tax using a DBS credit card at an AXS machine? I've been standing in front of the machine for the past 10 mins or so trying to figure out how to do that.
From my previous experience of paying income tax, I'd start by pressing the DBS button on the right bar, then DBS Credit Card, then IRAS, then Income Tax. But if I follow this route, the LTA menu only shows Bills and Fines - no Road Tax. *EDIT* Road Tax appears when I start by selecting Government at the top menu, then LTA. At the payment stage, it asks to choose credit cards of DBS, Citibank or Diners. Upon choosing, you proceed to input the card details. *END EDIT* |

US credit cards are the best for earning hotel/airline points... Look at the signup bonuses and usage perks... it's incredible that Asia in general has nothing coming close...
Oh well... C'est la vie :D |
Woo hoo!!! Received a very pleasant letter from DBS Altitude Visa yesterday saying that I qualified as one of the first 500 cardholders that spent $8,000 under its recent 1 May - 30 June promo and will be receiving additional 8,000 miles!
Seriously?! I wasn't at all harbouring hopes of being the first 500 because by the time I received my card and spent the requisite $8,000, it would've been more than halfway through the promo already and I thought tons of people would've applied and spent the $8,000 before then? Looks like less people than I thought had signed up for the card... |

ANZ (Singapore) Travel Visa Signature Card
ANZ Singapore has launched a new Travel Visa Signature Card. For new ANZ cardmembers (who are not existing ANZ cardmembers), they can receive 2,000Travel$ which is equivalent to 2,000 miles upon charging S$500 to the card.
The earning rate now is S$1 = 1.4 miles. However, there is a promotion now for overseas spending where the earning rate is S$1 = 2.8 miles. More details are at this website: http://www.anz.com/singapore/en/Pers...s/travel-card/ https://sg.anz.com/onlineapp/persona..._signature.jpg |

Can't find the info. The redemption page still under construction.... The rest of privi are crapy. Must spend $1500 http://www.anz.com/singapore/en/reso...86a7b707451b78 Basically, you will earn Travel$ and 1 Travel$ = 1 mile. You can transfer them to KF and $25 admin fee applies. Travel$ is valid for 5 years. |
Citi PM charges S$192.60 for 10,000 miles. For S$7.40 more, you get 2,000 more miles, which is a better deal.
This card is best for Asia Miles earning for all other spending (excluding shopping and groceries). Citi PM's rate for Asia Miles is lousy. 1 Citimile = 0.4 AM. ANZ Travel card can replace Citi PM for KrisFlyer and Asia Miles unless you want to earn miles in THAI's ROP and Delta Skymiles, you need Citi PM. It's a VISA, earns miles for every $1 spend, unlike DBS and UOB. Each redemption request must be for a minimum of 500 ANZ Travel$, unlike DBS and UOB in blocks of 10,000 miles. For local S$ expenses for air ticket(s)/travel package(s) from travel agents & airlines, purchases at Perfumes & Cosmetics outlets in Singapore Changi Airport, please use Maybank Horizon Visa Platinum Card, S$1 = 2 miles. |
