That's not uncommon for International First Class; Lufthansa and Swiss offer similar, although it depends sometimes on the specifics of which lounge you're in and where your flight is departing from.
That said, this is not a general offering, unclear who it will be targeted at, probably 360s/Diamonds and/or full J fare. UA has something similar (Jaguars I think) separate from an F offering.

When AF passengers board with a vehicle transfer from the tarmac at CDG, staff introduce the CIP passengers to the pilot as they enter the aircraft.

I would probably use 28k skypesos for a bottle of LPGS if I find myself in this lounge. Not like I can use them for anything else useful!

Does anyone else find the tagline 'Premium wines served at preferential pricing' on Delta's new lounge wine list a bit ironic? Competitors offer complimentary wines in their premium lounges. To me, this undermines the idea of a premium experience. True class doesnt need to advertise discounts.

Agree 100%. The key is going to be if they can pull this off without the place feeling like a cafeteria. The pictures are lovely, but so are the pictures of the Sky Clubs when they are empty. I will be interested to read reports of how the lounge functions in practice, particularly on a notorious and commonplace bad weather day in the summer.

Or instgrammable approved by T. Dunn,
or creditcard shilling USP....did TPG already post: " get creditcard X to generate miles to redeem for premium drinks"
Or rather DL is shrewd to diminish their balance sheet liabilities ?

Purely arriving from international and terminating at JFK, there won't be a legitimate way to access the lounge, which is post-security.

I would say its all about how they divide and segment the space inside. Does it feel premium if its just one large dining hall? No. But it doesnt seem to be set up that way. Id rather it be large, well-designed with thoughtful areas, and no lines to get in, than small for the sake of being small.

What's the point of the complementary shuttle to the Delta SkyClub? Aren't all the widebody gates between B20 and B31 anyways? I mean only case I could think of is a JFK-LAX 757 parking somewhere far down the gates. If anything, there should be a shuttle to the A SkyClub for some of the KLM/VS flights that park in the A gates.

I hope you are able to double-dip. Use the Delta-One lounge in JFK and LAX if you fly something like JFK-LAX-SYD on DL1.

This area though is atrocious. They have a bunch of counters dedicated to people who use the KIOSK first to print out their own bag tags - which you would think would be an easy task by just scanning your boarding pass, but it isn't.
If you need an agent, you have to wait in a separate line that doesn't move very quickly.

Also, with most Virgin Customers deciding to choose the Delta Lounge (as the Virgin Upper Class Check-in literally leads them there), will Virgin realize that they don't have a point operating their own lounge? If so, I hope Singapore Airlines starts their own lounge in their space. Their current offerings for their product are embarrassing, (other than the suites) and not a good way to start the longest flight in the world.
