I have been silent in on this thread not because I have not been flying UA. I still take photos of meals during flights but they look terrible to post. It is embarrassing to see FA serve some of the meals.

I also realized the wine menu is now totally gone. There is a drink menu but wine descriptions have gone to the grave yard.

I asked for choices of red wine yesterday and the FA came back with a glass of red wine. I was forced to drink what she decided for me, so I asked her what were the choices, and she responded the other choices were just bad and other passengers took a sip and returned. The one she poured for me was found drinkable by other passengers.

Do you recall what the red wine was on your Polaris flight? Was it TATL or TPAC, I wonder. I understand there are no further wine menus. Thanks.

I was not shown the bottle so I have no idea what wine it was. It was a transpac flight IAD-PEK on 787-10, but IFE did not work on this 13-hour flight!!!

Was the wine drinkable? Yes barely. I left half of a glass untouched!

But was that untouched half from your first glass or your -nth glass of said wine?

FA only poured one glass, and I drank half.

Usually for a non working IFE on such a long flight the passengers get a ETC. Did United reach to you about it? In the other direction no IFE is less painful (at least for passengers with Lounge access) as I can grab many newspapers in the Air China Lounge.

About the red wine. That's the reason I try to choose a dish that goes with Champagne so I can continue with it. Especially when it was vintage like I had in some of my flights this year. Last year there was red wine from Argentina that always disappeared too fast as I could see many other passengers requesting it.

On our last flight from PVG in July, the FA on my wife's side always served her glass showing the bottle. On my side, it was my glass being taken to the galley for the refills.....

EWR-PEK
Happy to report that the Thai Spicy [Coconut] Chicken made a welcome return (see pic).
IFE not functioning at all for whole flight. $200 ETC or 10000 miles given.

Boeing 777-200
Meal: Lunch, breakfast

Haven't flown ex-ICN in a long time, I was pleasantly surprised with the Asian meal options for both lunch and dinner.

Menu

Appetizer

Entree - bibimbap, pretty good and tasty, wish they gave me a spoon to eat it with, and also wish they had some kimchi on board.

Dessert

Breakfast - beef noodles, also pretty good, simple and light. I also liked that the fruit included Asian pears instead of boring melons.

That bibimbap looks terrible. Was it reheated all together in one plate or served cold? OZ and DL serve the heated rice separately from the veggies.
