Came in to say this isn't true because I have a F ticket (O) for LAX-EWR that just says First. Except when I went to look at the reservation, it now says global first. Went to check my original reservation email to make sure I wasn't going crazy and sure enough, it just said United First (O). Glitch or are they "upgrading" the service hence the change.
In sure it won't include GFL access either and that's just fine - doesn't matter to me at all.
I'm schlepping back to EWR from OGG.
Originally was scheduled OGG-HNL-EWR and gave up row 1 on the 764 HNL-EWR straight shot to route through SFO.
The OGG-SFO-EWR departs a lot later in the day, buying me back an entire day in OGG. Sitting in F on the 777 is just a nice bonus... Short layover early morning in SFO now - wouldn't have time or reason to hit the GFL anyway; I may, however, stick my head in the UC while at SFO, if only just to get some Illy!

UA is running a 747 SFO-ORD on Sat March 26. UA268 departs 130p. Oddly it's 10 minutes before a 753 running SFO-ORD on the same day. Earlier that day there's a 777 on SFO-ORD at 830a.
UA is running 2x 777 ORD-SFO on Sun April 3. At least one of these is a domestic config though.
Note, I only notice these because I'm buying a ticket to GRU at the moment and will connect via ORD/SFO on the outbound and return and noticed these flights. The $200 up charge for Global First now seems to really make sense because the domestic connections will also be in GF (though not with GF service).
PS - also worth noting that while the 757 is not a widebody the 753 is appearing quite a bit now on ORD-SEA. I've never seen the aircraft on this route before. It used to be flown with sUA 752s.

The 747 is daily between ORD and SFO for a while, maybe June.

Why would you even bother to use miles for domestic flights ? Not to mention for C class ? Just to try to fly on the 747 upper deck ? You do know that when 3 class planes flying domestic, C class have no choice of meal right ? Only F class does.

And yet that day is not offering those $64 ow fares like other days in April, the oddest thing is the 744 on that day is almost filled in Y, must be some big convention in SF that week.

Because I don't have a plethora of miles, I've never flown a 747, and would like to experience the upper deck of one? At the saver level I would consider it.

Exactly. If I hadn't managed to get a mileage upgrade on a TPac in May, I would have probably looked for award space on ORD-SFO, even if only for a quick overnight trip on a weekend, just to get the upper deck. Folks doing this aren't in it for the "meal choice."

I know in itself it's a terrible redemption, I don't argue that. Just want to say I did it.

I have ORD-IAH in April on a 767-300 2-cabin. I'm flying onward to Lima on the same type, although presumably not the same plane. (2:30 is too long for a 767 to sit there, right?)

It could be the same plane it's not unusual for the widebodies to sit at IAH for a few hours before departing again.

Searching for 747 flights between SFO and ORD. Is there an easy way aside from clicking on each flight to find the aircraft type?
