Instead we have nothing the identifies brand. A kite, a ribbon and a NetworkRail logo. Now which airline do I fly ??
What always astounds me is how these agencies manage to sell their ideas to the likes of the BA board and have then accepted and get paid to boot. Probably says as much about the BA board as the cards themselves

I'm surprised nobody has posted saying "I've just received my lovely new Bronze Card, and I'm really impressed by the design."
What a disappointment it will be, to so many people. No wonder they're keeping quiet about it.

I am not sure they have been sent out yet. BA did say soon after the change over. I think they worried more about the Golds & GGL's.
The same with Airmiles / Avios. They are sending out new cards as well. I have the email its due soon, just no card yet.
Come on post man, I need another piece of plastic.

I received my new card yesterday with a delay of two weeks vs. when I would normally receive my new plastic. I assumed this was due to the new design. I assumed wrong - it is still in the good ole style, i.e. a week ago BA still have been sending out their "old" designs.

I'm still unclear as to the reason for the Silver streak on the Bronze card, there's no case study about this on the Landor website to answer the question.

So thinking about the current ad campaign for BA and the heritage aspect of it, in my insomniac state I've very quickly knocked up some new designs - and stuck them next to their current one.

I took the plane pictues from BA.com and could make the designs look better but I'm too tired.

I would have thought they looked at their target customers and felt the cards would fit the profiles better. Some 'customer response' said the old card designs were too boring and stuffy. So to encourage excitment they decided to make them exciting, to a few.

I always find it a bit pathetic when a company with certain heritage/established image (eg BA's British conservatism) tries to make themselves more youthful. Goes against the brand IMO and ultimately fails as the airline itself hasn't changed. Don't try and be a Virgin when you're not

Who will be the first one with a BAEC T-Shirt
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/flyin...e-t-shirt.html

Hi everyone,
This morning at 6am I was not completely awake when I boarded KL1314 from BOD to AMS... but what I saw was real: the gentleman seated in row 1 was wearing a black t-shirt with an interesting printing on it: his FB Gold card!
He explained to me that it's been very helpful on short connections or when dealing with different issues during flights.
Maybe he's a reader of FT... Anyhow, he said he jumped to Platinum this year... which will be a challenge if the t-shirt remain black ;-)
I thought it was a cool idea ;-)

Possibly not flying more makes you boring or stuffy. However getting older does cause people to become more boring and conservative, possibly with a big C.
So BA have looked at the age groups of customers and felt that they wanted to embrace younger people who felt that BAEC was a little boring.
I know that some people have or had a gold card in their twenties. I have had both of them myself. However its fair to say, especially in todays market, that the more corporate pax will be older and more senior in terms of job.
