Flying Blue T-Shirt

Hi everyone,

This morning at 6am I was not completely awake when I boarded KL1314 from BOD to AMS... but what I saw was real: the gentleman seated in row 1 was wearing a black t-shirt with an interesting printing on it: his FB Gold card!

He explained to me that it's been very helpful on short connections or when dealing with different issues during flights.

Maybe he's a reader of FT... Anyhow, he said he jumped to Platinum this year... which will be a challenge if the t-shirt remain black ;-)

I thought it was a cool idea ;-)

Cool idea indeed to remind KL/AF who often forget that their frequent flyers exists. A white t-shirt will be great for the plat card.

I wouldnt put on one myself though

Well, that certainly eliminates the whole "do you know who I am" argument...

I do not know what drives these card-flashing, t-shirt-with-card-wearing people. I never had any serious problem where someone does not recognise my status. Yes, i sometimes have to remind them of my status, but I rarely show my card anyway these days because it's all in the computer. (And note that I am dressed pretty casually most of the time. So I do not really look like a frequent flyer.)

A T-shirt sounds bit more pratical than having a card glued on your forehead, an idea mentioned several times in DYKWIA threads

Perhaps attendees of the first AF DO should get such a T-shirt

Hello everybody !

I am the "gentleman" who was seated in row 1 for this flight ! I fly mainly in the economy class but sometimes i get upgrade and sometimes i use my FBpoints in business.

I confirm "volerbleu" decalration, it can sometimes help ! i am not at all the "look at me" guy but in some short connections due to delays in first plane it cal help to go directly where needed supported by crew team who see that you are a HC custommer.

I never have to say i am FF, they know it from first look ...and it create a lot of nice contacts with crew or passengers....

I am now platinum and immediatly i printed a new one due to that good experience.

It is also very useful when you go to complain because your luggage is not in time which occurs for me very often, instead of having bad words, the communication with staff is much better !

Best regards to all !!! and happy to see you on next flights !

For complete information i scanned my FB card and used a print on demand service....

FbBOD - welcome to Flyer Talk! Hope you'll stick around!

Just one question - in your dealings with AF/KL staff do they ever ask to see your card/boarding pass -or do they take your T-shirt at face value?

Hi FbBOD,

Would you mind to post a picture of your T-shirt (to have fun)?

I was going to ask if the card on your T-shirt had your name and # too, but now I know it does. Super. @:-)

This is an image of the Platinum FB T shirt....

Sometimes specially to enter in some lounges they ask me the real plastic card, but it is very few....In fact they need the number, it is written mostly on the boarding pass, but they need the card.

The T shirt is exactly the copy of the card with name FB number, validity date !
