Hotel Website: The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Autograph Collection
Official List of Cosmopolitan Bonvoy Elite Benefits: https://www.cosmopolitanlasvegas.com/marriott-bonvoy-at-the-cosmopolitan-of-las-vegas
The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, the only charges that qualify for Points are as follows:
- Room rate, room service food and beverage, in-room movies, phone calls and in-room minibar purchases
- Points cannot be earned on any other purchases at hotel outlets or for hotel services
The Cosmopolitan is a "resort," so basically the only elite benny is a possible upgrade. Elites are not exempt from the resort fee
Resort fee is $39+tax effective 01/01/2019. Also as of that date, parking (self & valet) is complimentary for hotel guests.
Cosmopolitan is exempt from providing free wifi to Plats per Marriott's T&Cs, however it is included with the mandatory $39 daily resort fee so there is still no extra charge to any guest for using it.
Platinums receive:
* use of Platinum check-in area (to the left of main desks)
* Platinum arrival gift is $10FB coupon or 1,000 points
* room upgrade (space available) - better luck on mid-week stays than weekend stays. sometimes a 'sandwich' (ie, bribe) to front desk does the trick.
* free tea/coffee 6am - noon in the plat lobby check-in area
* Wicked Spoon: Marriott Rewards Platinums (and PPs) get to use preferred line and get 15% discount when staying at the property. Just show your MR Plat or PP card.
You can book through Virtuoso as well as Amex FHR for complimentary breakfast buffet at Wicked spoon.
Resort fee:
* $39 (+ tax) per day for resort fee, which includes gym access, local + long distance calls, Wifi, pool access. The resort fee is not waived.
Receiving Bonvoy Points for a Stay:
Many have reported needing to follow up to have Marriott Bonvoy points manually posted post stay (they do not typically post automatically.) A tip is to email [email protected] shortly after a stay asking them to manually forward your folio to Marriott Bonvoy for processing.
Hat tip to billycwhatup for this:
* Identity points and MR points can not be earned on the same stay
Other tips
The Terrace Suites are the most common room type and are classified as studio and one bedroom, with options for King, 2 Queens with or without a fountain view. They are essentially the same size, however (10 sq ft difference), but the layouts differ.
The King Studio Suite has a standard bathroom with shower and tub, a living room area with large sitting area and an L shaped sofa and the bed is in a separate area, though not separated.
The King One BR Suite has the same kind of living room area, with the bedroom separated by sliding doors and the bathroom is larger, with a "soaking tub".
If you get a terrace suite of any kind with 2 Queens, the living area will be smaller.
And unless your room type is described as "fountain view", you aren't guaranteed it, though Platinum status will get you upgraded on check in if they have one available.
If you book any of these room types and want to aim higher, I would try a giving the receptionist a 50$ "sandwich", and ask if any wraparounds upgrades would be available. If they say yes, there is a good chance that it will be a wraparound facing south-east or south-west, which for me would be a no go. Taste in view is personal of course, but for me the fountain-Eiffel tower view are so much nicer than the south facing views. Also when you would have the choice between a low level wraparound or high level terrace suite, I would still take the high level terrace suite, because a number of floors on the east tower are blocked by the big Bellagio sign. (see youtube vids).
If you really want a high level wraparound then you probably would have to pay, which can sometimes be not that much. If I'm not mistaken I think they offered me a wraparound at 150$ per night more, but we originally booked a 1 bedroom terrace room without view.
Last tip : If you would get the choice of wraparound I would definitely take a high floor east tower one, facing north-east. That would give you bellagio fountain + eiffel tower view, but also a good portion of the south strip.

You have nothing to lose. In Vegas, if you 'ACT' like you belong, it works 90%+ of the time. Worst case, you spend 2 minutes in line at 'invited guest' and then go back to the regular line...
Always amazed how afraid people to use VIP lines. It's not like they are going to arrest you.

(and, BTW, a $20 bill (and I'm sorry, I thought I could use this line/check in area) will basically solve the 'this is the wrong line' problem..... and that's definitely worth saving a 30-40 minute wait on a Friday night!)

Just got back from a Labor Day weekend stay at the Cosmo. Received a nice phone call from the Cosmo's Platinum Concierge (Zara) a week before my arrival to confirm my stay and inform me of my Platinum benefits. The two Concierges (Zara & Colin) that I interacted with prior to the stay were both excellent!
Arrived and used the "Invited Guests" check-in line as instructed by the Concierge. Wait time was about 10 minutes to check-in. The check-in clerk informed me that Marriott Platinum guests are afforded a one-level room upgrade at check-in. I had booked a standard Terrace One-Bedroom room and was upgraded to a premium view (fountain view) Terrace One-Bedroom room on the 57th floor of the east tower. The check-in clerk even remembered to ask about my platinum arrival gift!
Overall, we had a great time and enjoyed our room and the property. We are in our 30s and found the clientele to mainly be in their early 20s due to the club. For only being open for less than a year, we found the property and furnishings to be a little roughed up for such a short time of operation. I guess that’s what you get when you attract the 20-something clubbing crowd. The club noise could be heard, albeit faintly, in our room on the 57th floor. At check-out, I used both a Marriott bonus bucks certificate and a Marriott gift card for the balance with no issues.
Notes/Tips:
- Platinums can use the "Invited Guests" check-in line. This is NOT the VIP check-in area in the separate room behind the frosted glass as you first enter the lobby. We found the proper area after finally spotting the small sign on the first desk in the main lobby area.
- Platinums receive a one level room upgrade at check-in. You might get more than a one level upgrade if they are less busy. However, we were there over Labor Day weekend and what we were told was close to 100% occupancy at that time.
- Platinums receive two free breakfast buffets at the Wicked Spoon. You are asked to charge the buffets to your room and they will subsequently be removed from your folio by check-out time. Ours were not removed automatically but the check-out clerk was able to kindly do this for us without us even asking or reminding him.
- Platinums can use the "Invited Guests" line at the far right to enter the Wicked Spoon and avoid the crowds in the general line.
- Platinums can use the "Invited Guests" line for check-out.

Just returned from a points stay 9/11-9/13. I'm a Gold Elite.
I went to checkin at 12:30pm and had no problem at all in the regular line. It wasn't as chaotic as the impression I got from this thread. There were maybe 12-15 groups waiting in line. They had about 10 people working at the front desk, and probably 5 or 6 lines. I had two groups in front of me and waited not more than 10 minutes to get to a front desk agent.
As a Gold Elite, I was informed that I couldn't get the upgraded room or breakfast. However, they offered an upgraded room (without a view) for $50 a night. With a view of the fountains it was $80 a night. Since I was using points to pay the base fee, I went ahead and got the view with the fountains in an upgraded room. They put me on the 29th floor. I could have gotten 51st floor but it would have been further west without as nice of a view and a little bit of a wait.
Loved the room and the view. I spent a lot of time reading on the balcony and watching the fountain and commotion of the strip. I also went to the Bamboo Pool and enjoyed it. It's on the 14th floor and is a laid back. I never heard any club noise or even strip noise from my room and I'm very sensitive to noise.
I didn't do any gambling in the Cosmopolitan. But I had a rental car, so I drove to other casinos that I prefer for gambling. The location of Cosmopolitan made it very easy to either go to the strip or to head west to casinos that are off-strip (e.g. Gold Coast, Station, Orleans). I also really liked the self-park. It's easy to find a spot with the green lights above the spots and inventory boards showing # of available spots. Park near the elevator banks and be right by elevators that go up to the main floor with elevator banks to the rooms right beside those. Very easy.
I went to the main bar and had a couple of their signature drinks. They were a little pricey but not bad. Also ate at the pizza place. Very good slice of pizza. Just take it out to any of the chairs and pull up a side table. Then I ate at Jaleao and loved it.
I'll definitely stay here again and recommend it.

Was told at check-in that gym was "for 24 hours." Went to gym and told that was wrong and he told me, "you really need to talk to each department to get the correct information." That's when I dropped an F-bomb. Honestly, I wasn't expecting the Four Seasons but don't tell me to talk to each department to get the correct information. I think it's fair assume the front desk knows what they are talking about.
) On the Saturday night before the Super Bowl, we weren't kicked out of Marquee until around 8:30am.I didn't do any gambling in the Cosmopolitan. MR Points Posting
So my mid-August stay was booked through Marriott.com and my points posted within a few days of my stay. My last visit (Labor Day) was booked on the cosmo website and I did have to email my folio to MR yesterday but then the points posted within 24 hours. Just wanted to give people the head's up that you definitely have to pay attention at this property to make sure you get your points. Got a lot of points though... dang, must have spent a lot on this last trip.

Platinum breakfast buffets
We have booked two rooms here for three days coming up in November. We are flying out early the last day and won't be able to use our buffets. Wondered if our kids/spouses will get 2 free for their room that we booked? And could they use two free breakfasts on the last day for each room or are we required to physically check out at front desk when we leave for airport?
Also does it help to email hotel ahead of time to request a room with a view and upgrade? Thanks!

The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas is a new hotel situated adjacent to the Bellagio (airport side). It opened in late 2010, and is now part of the Marriott Autograph Collection, and a Ritz-Carlton affiliate.
It comprises two towers, the East Tower which is nearest the Strip and has a square floorplan, and the West Tower which is long and thin.

Booking
Initially I booked using Quidco on marriott.com, but found a better deal at www.cosmopolitanlasvegas.com at 4 nights for the price of 3 (which worked out at 25% off, even though I was staying 5 nights). Average nightly rate was $220 incl tax for a Terrace Suite incl tax, the second down from the top level Wraparound Suite.
This was an uncancellable, pay in advance rate (although that wasn't made clear at the time of booking, and they have since made that more clear on the booking page).
I called ahead to log my Platinum Marriott number; similar to Palazzo the links seem to be highly manual.
Check In
Arrived by car and valeted as had accumulated a silly amount of luggage.
Check in area was very busy (Sunday early afternoon) I assume with people checking out. A terrific space filled with HiDef floor to ceiling screens with artworks and moving images (think water droplets and flowers opening) which actually was classier than it sounds!

There are two desks reserved for Marriott Elites on the left of the check in area, but both were busy so I marched through the doors marked VIP By Invitation only and asked if that included Marriott Plats. It didn't, but the lady was very happy to check me in as she had just finished with an earlier guest.
My Platinum status was acknowledged and I opted for the 500 points rather than the free gift (the 500 points never posted), but no details were provided about the Plat benefits (which are free breakfast in the Wicked Spoon Buffet for 2, free WiFi, and a room upgrade where possible).
I was verbally offered an upgrade to a wraparound suite, and having completed formalities went up to my room in the West Tower; lovely room overlooking the Bellagio fountains, and it was a sizeable Terrace Suite, but certainly not the Wraparound that had been mentioned.
As I had tipped the lady quite well ($40) I wasn't very happy with that outcome, so marched down to secure myself a Wraparound Suite, the link gives a good overview:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRPcncnX0uI
Wraparound Suite
This was on a very low floor in the East Tower; if I'm honest I wasn't thrilled that it was so low, but it was very handy for the gym and pool and I didn't fancy schlepping all the way back to reception; it's quite a long walk. I would certainly try and get a room in the West Tower in future.

Rested in my suite (it had been a five hour drive to get to Vegas) and sunbathed on the Terrace, waiting for my bags which took an unacceptably long 2 hours to be delivered. No tip offered...!
Amused myself checking out the suite; found a anatomically shaped viagra-style pill and an old sock under the curtains; not great either.
No less than nine lightbulbs weren't working - one or two is fine, but that quantity isn't right.
I suppose the room was allocated to me earlier than planned so final checks hadn't been completed, and to be fair after an hour and half waiting for bags, and on raising these other issues, an small army of people appeared to clean the room, sort the lightbulbs etc. and the Manager popped in to apologise so it wasn't all bad.
Cosmo was intended to be condos, hence the oversize rooms and unusual features such as a washer/dryer in the room; handy for those on longer trips, but bring your own detergent. Strange there's no doorbell, and given the distance from the bedroom to the front door this can be a problem as staff are almost into your bedroom before you realise thy're there; use the DO NOT DISTURB!!
A lovely mini kitchen, but not many features (crockery/cutlery was minimal or non existent, and about 8 glasses of various sorts, but bring your own if you're planning a party). Plenty of fridge space.
Bathroom was amazing (there was also another loo/shower off the main reception area):

Noise was something of an issue being nearer to the pool by day and the Nightclub by night, but living in a city it didn't bother me; others used to more tranquil surroundings would have had issues with this.
Room Service
I usually order a few items from Room Service at Wynn - a shrimp plate/crudites and dips etc. and that's usually a few hundred dollars, but includes plenty of champagne glasses and bowls plus ice and a set up/clear down service so well worth it.
A similar package at Cosmo was $850 (plus service/tax!) so that was a no-go, and given the slowness of the baggage delivery I was concerned they would not have delivered on time as it just didn't feel as tightly run an operation as Wynn's Tower Suites. I got most of what I needed at Albertson's instead for a few hundred dollars.
Wicked Spoon Buffet
This gets great reviews for the food (and they're right) but it just doesn't have the "wow" factor Wynn Buffet manages.
The morning I went it was VERY slow as half the restaurant was out of commission. Queued for an hour, and that's not acceptable, and I wasn't even paying. Second visit it wasn't at all busy but still a ten minute wait; someone needs to take this in hand.
Oh, and it only opens at 8am so that's not great if you have an early start. I did brunch twice, which included sparkling wine, but would not have paid for it.
WiFi
This was entirely free until 1 September when it changed and you had to login; some confusion over this caused problems on the first morning, but were soon sorted out! WiFi remains free for Marriott Plats (and I think Golds as well) as per Marriott policy.
Spa
Wasn't overwhelmed; spa is smallish and treatments were good but not great. East Tower Gym, adjacent to my suite, overlooked Bellagio Fountains, so that was a plus.
The usual inappropriate advances in the steam room, which seems endemic in Vegas "conference" hotels, so I didn't linger long.
Pools
There are three pools; one is a day club (which is uber cool, apparently) but not my scene, the other Boulevard (nr East Tower) is a more mainstream party-pool and then the Bamboo pool which is quieter.

Wish I'd found Bamboo pool earlier as Boulevard pool was far too noisy with musac making it almost impossible to read a book. Great chair service food and cocktails, though.
Points
My Marriott points took about three weeks to post, but I didn't have to prompt them and it triggered a megabonus promo so I did quite well out of my stay, with about 15,000 points plus the 20,000 bonus. (40k is a night in an R-C if you stay five).
SUMMARY
I stayed here because it was new, Marriott affiliated and cost-effective for the Labor Day week, which can get pricey in Vegas.
I would stay again, but only in the West Tower and would have been very happy in the Terrace Suite as booked, but wanted the larger space to help with accommodating a Drinks Party with friends, which worked well for ten people.
I would avoid the Spa and the noisy Boulevard Pool, ensure I travelled light so I didn't need the bellhops, and bring detergent for the washing machine.
It did make me think how good Wynn Tower Suites are, but they were running at $500/night and up to $699 nearer the weekend and do not represent good value at anything more than $250 IMHO.
All in all, I was content and would stay there again better armed to make the most of the property and ensuring I got a similar deal.

Clearly everyone really, really, really *WANTS* to love this hotel. Too bad they can't just knock it out of the park and let there be no question at all...couldn't imagine such a hit or miss experience at a supposed luxury Vegas hotel. Typically stay at the Wynn Towers or Bellagio, but why not give it a shot yes? Was going to book the Four Seasons (knowing that service would be impeccable and it would be a Vegas urban oasis...) but I wanted to experience the Cosmo for myself.
Called through Marriott Plat line to reserve a corporate rate weekend stay for early November--celebrating an anniversary and it is also a surprise for my fiance's birthday; keeping my fingers crossed. Will report back!

I'd never stay at this property again.
We stayed for three nights mid week, and even after leaving, the problems continue.
Our terrace suite had a great fountain view, but the room was quite dirty, and we had to search out housekeeping to get the room semi-clean (lots of food crumbs, general trash left behind from the previous occupants, sticky table surfaces, etc.)
We were charged $3 for delivery of our Plat amenity.
No one knows how to process Marriott gift cards. Check out took nearly an hour, and then we arrived home, checked the balance on our gift card, and discovered they had zeroed it out. Numerous phone calls, and it is still not fixed. The resort managers are clueless on how to process the refund back to the gift card, and only one person is apparently authorized to do so. ??
Customer care has contacted the Cosmo, so hopefully a refund is forthcoming.

Going there in a couple of days for a 5-day weekend with 9 more 20-something guys. From the looks of it I have a very slim chance of getting a bigger room with my Gold status. It would be nice to have a bigger place to pregame before going out for the night.
Does anyone know if guests get in for free at Marquee or if there is any perk to hotel guests?

How did you broker this?
Did you wait in line?
Escorted up by someone?
Every time i have seen it on Monday night the night is back wrapped around almost to the escalators.
