Just returned from a points stay 9/11-9/13. I'm a Gold Elite.

I went to checkin at 12:30pm and had no problem at all in the regular line. It wasn't as chaotic as the impression I got from this thread. There were maybe 12-15 groups waiting in line. They had about 10 people working at the front desk, and probably 5 or 6 lines. I had two groups in front of me and waited not more than 10 minutes to get to a front desk agent.

As a Gold Elite, I was informed that I couldn't get the upgraded room or breakfast. However, they offered an upgraded room (without a view) for $50 a night. With a view of the fountains it was $80 a night. Since I was using points to pay the base fee, I went ahead and got the view with the fountains in an upgraded room. They put me on the 29th floor. I could have gotten 51st floor but it would have been further west without as nice of a view and a little bit of a wait.

Loved the room and the view. I spent a lot of time reading on the balcony and watching the fountain and commotion of the strip. I also went to the Bamboo Pool and enjoyed it. It's on the 14th floor and is a laid back. I never heard any club noise or even strip noise from my room and I'm very sensitive to noise.

I didn't do any gambling in the Cosmopolitan. But I had a rental car, so I drove to other casinos that I prefer for gambling. The location of Cosmopolitan made it very easy to either go to the strip or to head west to casinos that are off-strip (e.g. Gold Coast, Station, Orleans). I also really liked the self-park. It's easy to find a spot with the green lights above the spots and inventory boards showing # of available spots. Park near the elevator banks and be right by elevators that go up to the main floor with elevator banks to the rooms right beside those. Very easy.

I went to the main bar and had a couple of their signature drinks. They were a little pricey but not bad. Also ate at the pizza place. Very good slice of pizza. Just take it out to any of the chairs and pull up a side table. Then I ate at Jaleao and loved it.

I'll definitely stay here again and recommend it.
