I canceled an Avios booking last Friday morning over the phone. Avios deposited into my account whilst I was still on the call and the cash element was recieved two days later. So I figure your wait of almost four weeks seems a bit too long.

I requested online on 27th December an Avios refund for a cancelled (by BA) LHR/DUR J flight and still await. Think Ill have to be patient.

These are two different mechanisms, so they are not really comparable in this way.

If you phone and the agent is able to cancel using the automated mechanism, then the Avios will be refunded immediately and the cash element doesn't take long to reach the card.

But if the automated mechanism doesn't work for the agent, or the cancellation is actioned other than through an agent, then the manual refund process comes into play. Sometimes that has taken a long time, but BA refund helper's recent posts suggests that it shouldn't be taking that long at the moment.

Looking for some assistance. Due to fly CW to Miami late February - award / 241 booking. Opened up my BA account this morning to be met with “your flight has been cancelled”. Outbound Domestic is fine and the London - Miami return legs are both ok, it’s the return domestic that’s been cancelled. We’ve had two return domestic time changes from BA over the past couple of months and we were ok with both but we’ve now decided to cancel. Cancelling the booking on line only opens up a future flight voucher option, nothing else. I’ve tried calling but can’t even get through, just an automated message that ends in a disconnection. Any advice on how to contact BA to initiate a refund. Interestingly, when I scroll to the bottom of the page to “cancellation options for this booking” the following statement appears next to my booking reference. For clarity, it was booked on line via BA (241 booking). This is a trade or travel agent booking

Trade bookings, or bookings made through a travel agent cannot be processed by British Airways.

If your booking was made through a travel agent please contact them for all refund enquiries.

I would appreciate your thoughts

I think you have to phone. I'm not sure why some people are having such wildly varying experiences with getting through - see this thread from earlier today from someone who was not frustrated: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/brit...g-voucher.html

Refund Half processed

Does anyone have any experience of only part of their refund being processed? I requested a refund as a result of a flight cancellation on 20th December. By 20th January I hadnt received anything so spent a long time on the phone to BA and subsequently I have received the cash element and the return of my companion voucher, but the 280,000 Avios are still missing which seems very strange.

BA cancelled my flight on Feb 3. Requested refund online on Feb 3 itself. Was easy to do and BA made the options very clear (voucher options vs refund option). Refund hit my credit card on Feb 5. Super impressed!

Has anyone had any recent experience with a BA holidays booking?

Refund form submitted online on the 21/02, no further contact, but the booking is showing no confirmed flights and Check my trip says status REFUND, but so far nothing has appeared on my card.

Just a little bump here, anyone any recent experience with BAH? Still waiting .

Haven't tried calling as I expect they'll be swamped.
