Looks like they just did another purge. They got 2 of 3 of my accounts this time around. Last purge got 1 of 4.
Back in the day (couple years ago), i had about a dozen accounts, and re-signing up was easy also, those were some good days - slowly they've been trickled down and caught and banned to the point where my second-to-last account was banned 3 weeks ago and I'm down to my last lonely account :/ And I haven't seen any new signups so that sucks, plus the cellphone verification makes having multiple accounts tough (if you have tips on how to signup for newer accounts or how you got around phone verification please PM). |
My husband and I each had an e-Rewards and e-Miles account. When e-Miles sent out the closing notice, they also sent us each an invite to join e-Rewards because we were using different emails there than we were on e-Rewards. We each joined from work, using our work addresses so that the info wouldn't match and the reward choices with the e-Miles conversion accounts are so much better - every hotel, every airline, restaurants, etc. What we want to do is stop using our current accounts and use the new accounts exclusively. We can confirm them easily with our work cell phones. If you were also sent an invite from e-Miles and have limited reward choices with your current account, definitely take it.

I haven't a clue, just framing the question, but thought I'd point out that potential "risk".
|
In the short term, I haven't had any problems redeeming to the same points account from two e-rewards accounts. That is, have done it several times, as long as the names match... Whether this will lead to closing I don't know.

I don't think they do purges in batches, rather it is related to suspicious activity (e.g. you log in with some nonUS IP, you redeem miles to an account where you name doesn't match, you redeem miles to the same account through two different e-rewards etc)

How to sign up ASAP
I have 250 e-miles stranded by the closure so I'd like to sign up with e-rewards immediately so the emiles transfer over. I have accounts with all major airlines and hotels so any will do, but particularly prefer one where miles/points can expire without activity. Anyone have ideas how to get an invite? Thanks.

The first email we got said this. IMPORTANT NOTE: By June 1, 2018, we will send you an invitation to join the e-Rewards Opinion Panel (our sister company), America’s largest online community where members can take surveys in exchange for great rewards. If you choose to join e-Rewards, we will transfer any eMiles Points you do not redeem by June 15, 2018 and will load them into your e-Rewards account on or before June 29, 2018, in the amount of $0.05 in e-Rewards Currency, for each remaining eMiles Point in your account. This ensures you can continue to take advantage of your eMiles Points, as well as the great earnings opportunities that e-Rewards has to offer. As mentioned above, we will send out your personalized invitation link by June 1, 2018. The invitation said this. Dear Member, A few days ago, we informed you that you will no longer be able to earn or redeem eMiles Points effective June 15, 2018, and we promised you a new opportunity to earn with the e-Rewards Opinion Panel (our sister company) - an online community that rewards you for sharing your opinions. Plus, we’ll convert any eMiles Points remaining in your account after June 29, 2018, into e-Rewards Currency, to give you a head start towards your first Reward with e-Rewards. Click the below link to get started; please use the same email address tied to your eMiles account to ensure your Points are converted. |
need erewards invite
My email from emiles announcing the closure did not include any mention of e-rewards. So they must have different language for different people, but who knows why. So I would still like an erewards invite in the next few days. Thank you.

Has any non-US member received any communications from e-miles re: moving to e-rewards?
|
Is Fiesta Rewards a new transfer partner or have I just never noticed? Some interesting opportunities from Fiesta to others ;)

I see they added Amazon gift cards and Denny's for rewards. Great news:)

Quartelry redemption: Redemption Limitation Redemptions of Amazon.com Gift Card rewards will be limited to one (1) redemption per calendar quarter. |
Beware of a long survey from AIG insurance. After spending more than five minutes answering many questions about one of their ads, it screened me out at the very end.

My ONLY e-rewards account just closed with $250 balance, even after sending in the complaint. No read reason given (just some .... about one account per member allowed and similar). My sin - in my opinion: had done over $300 per month regularly and always redeemed $100 for United, Iberia, British and Avios, netting 2000 United and 5000 Avios miles every month. As I don't have any other e-rewards accounts, I obviously couldn't earn and redeem from other accounts. Obviously, this was too much and too expensive for those pigs. Thinking of suing them in front of small claims court. This is just unacceptable business in my opinion. So, all that still have active accounts: do no hold any balance, spend all that you can. You never know.

Haven't seen Amazon as an option yet. |
My cell phone is a VOIP number and is net being recognized as a valid phone number for confirming rewards, Even as a landline / voice line it doesn't work. I tried a few of the available online burn numbers but these don't work either. Anybody have a workaround other than the obvious, asking a friend to do get the confirmation?

I don't think they really care how much you redeem. I redeemed $540 last month and that's pretty typical for me. What survey companies usually get you on is data validation (missing too many trap questions) or IP/location mismatch.

Does checking the balances of your account and other household members on Awardwallet trigger investigations? I do that often and recently I redeemed a bunch of e-rewards dollars for a few airlines accounts and none have posted in 4 or 5 weeks. Usually AA get posted in 3 weeks, I don't know about Southwest and Alaska though as I have not redeemed for them before. I have not seen the miles in all 3 accounts.

Might be. Did forget once or twice while vacationing abroad, Mexico or Jamaica, that I am no longer on US soil. But the punishment still seems harsh.

Add me to the list of crooks and liars. Account deactivated yesterday with $90 in it (would have been able to redeem another Hilton award in a couple of weeks). Usual boilerplate about what they look for before deactivating an account, they have no choices, blah, blah, blah. Thoroughly disgusted with e-Rewards.
|
It looks like they are doing another purge of high value accounts. Keep burning those points down, people. Holding any kind of balance in e-rewards is a bad idea.

I just got a tube of toothpaste in the mail that I'm supposed to use for 2 weeks and then evaluate via an e-Rewards follow-up survey. Naturally, I can't now. I think the only right thing for me to do is to send it to the Chief Marketing Officer of the Fortune 500 company that manufactured it and explain that I can't evaluate it and tell him why. What do you think?:p

I'm sure they don't care about the toothpaste- I'm making a statement. ResearchNow's web site touts its ability to recruit "hard-to-reach professionals", which probably applies to most of the people on this Board (although I'm retired from being a hard-to-reach profesional). I want the Marketing CEO of the F500 company to understand that ResearchNow is alienating the very segment most marketers want to reach. I suspect a box with a tube of toothpaste in it will get a little more attention than just a letter. I know one letter won't change his mind but I'll have channeled my frustration into a constructive action and maybe planted an idea.
|
Ah, OK. I had to look back and see that you were the recent purge victim. When you get the FT daily e-mail it's hard to follow the narrative of who is saying what from day to day.
|
This is so strange. I got purgde, contacted them, wasn't let back on, and then poof, 4 weeks later I get an email survey invite out of the blue. I'm back and so are my points...
|
Well, maybe I'll try again in a few weeks. Thanks for letting us know. At the very least, I could redeem my remaining $$ for Hilton points.

I don't know of too many marketing CEOs who would actually open a package from someone they don't know, assuming you even get it to them and not to a mailroom monkey. These days, they'd probably see a tube of toothpaste, which is an "unidentified substance," and call the police. |

Darn, that's a good point. I paid $4.10 for the stamp and was about to drop it off at the Post Office. I think I'll just use the stuff, given the paranoia in Corporate America these days.
Also, assuming you have contacted erewards and protested your being purged (or are going to do so), maybe you will be one of the lucky ones who (eventually) get reinstated. Let's hope, anyhow. ;) |
Name Change
I have been earning and redeeming a few hundred $ a month for years with no problems and now my last two redemptions have not gone through. It is about twice the normal time or more. I usually redeem for my FF accounts and my wife's and change the name each time back and forth. Because of the redemption delays, I now have pending points transfers in two different names. I wonder if that caused them not to go through. My assumption was that all that matters is the first and last name that are on your account at the time you hit redeem, not what's on your account when the redemption actually goes through. Anybody have any experience with this? Or I wonder if I triggered an audit by doing this. Or if I was already being audited anyway - does that cause all redemptions to be suspended? Can't decide whether to contact them or whether that will just make things worse.
