Well I got suspended again. I have no idea why. I went to Europe for 10 days and did no surveys. When I returned, there were none in my queue. I sent a message and they said that they would review my account and let me know in 2-3 days whether they could turn my account back on. Crazy! I will let you all know the results.

Reinstated today - it took ten days to get this resolved.

Just been welched on after completing a survey about the new show "The Rig" on Amazon Prime. Had to spend 47 minutes watching the show, and then give thoughts afterwards. Over an hour spent on this, all in. 1,200 points promised. After pressing the final "Press Continue to complete the survey" button (at 100%), I then got the dreaded "Sorry, you don't qualify" screen and the 25 points consolation prize. Furious.

Seems to be happening more and more lately, but this is really on another level...

I had this happen once before (not the same show) and it makes me skip the surveys where I have to watch a very long video. It is annoying!

SouthWesterner Sep 15, 2022 11:29 am

Got given 200 points after complaining. Still annoying and I'm likely to take the same approach in skipping these from now on.

Is anyone else being prompted for a text or call before every redemption not just once a year?

Yeah but then I regularly redeem every 2-4 days so I suspect it’s because I’m a high volume user. It’s been happening for a long time now.

Athena53 Sep 30, 2022 2:34 pm

They REALLY need a "Report this survey" button when you get kicked out. Not that they can investigate every complaint but they could at least look at percentages and sort out the abusers.

I got burned after an hour-long Zoom discussion on investing that was supposed to pay something like $100. I even followed up with e-Rewards but they were unable to get the points. I swore I'd never do anything that involved again but signed up for 75-minute discussions on 2 nights on climate change. Interesting, thought-provoking discussion and they promised $160. I got $416 in e-Rewards currency a few days later. :D. I can't redeem it all immediately because of time limits on the rewards I really value, but I'm happy.

I was in Europe for 3 weeks and didn't answer surveys. Interestingly, a reward of $17.75 from a phone interview that I'd done before I left posted very soon after I started surveys again. No problem getting new surveys but I was annoyed when I tried to redeem for Hilton points from Europe after the required time since the last redemption had elapsed and the verification call went to my home land line. I had to wait till I got home. (I'm very protective of my mobile number.)

While I wish they'd do a better job policing the surveys that steal my opinions for pity points, I'm seeing more lucrative surveys more often now.

Did you think they were promising just $160 in e-Rewards currency rather than in USD? There is about a 3 to 1 ratio in gift card redemption value (last time I looked); $75 e-Rewards currency gets a $25 gift card. So $416 e-Rewards = $139 USD approx. Close enough to $160, I guess. ;)

KathyWdrf and Athena53, I too participated in the climate change panel. After being made the offer to participate at the end of a short initial survey, I had two subsequent calls from Dynata to schedule the panel discussions. IIRC, both times I was told during the calls that the promised reward was simply for a total of "$150"--there was never any mention of it being paid in e-reward dollars. But the $150 in the form of $416 e-reward dollars posted to my account just a few days after the second panel discussion. I'm fine with that, as it will allow me to redeem for more airline miles.

FullTimeFlyer Oct 2, 2022 12:04 pm

That's my experience too... I've done offline panel discussions and the payment was in e-rewards dollars.

Mostly true in my experience, but I seem to recall at least a couple that promised payment in cash and delivered.

I'm not sure if you understood my point. There is a huge difference in value between $150 USD and $150 in e-rewards -- about a three to one ratio. So it's helpful to know what you are being promised -- both the numeric amount and the units.

I do understand your point. From my hectic conversation with the Dynata people I understood that the offer was $150 USD. Either they weren't clear, or I misunderstood, or a combination of the two. But whatever, I received $416 e-rewards, which are not only very useful to me, but also by your own math falls pretty close to the 3 to 1 ratio that you mention, so it's pretty much a wash. If they had given me $150 e-rewards I would have been complaining long and loud to Dynata.

apeortdz Oct 5, 2022 6:58 am

FYI, I have been tracking e-rewards money versus real US dollars for a few years. The actual conversion percentage seems to remain at about 36.05%. And this lines up very well with the $416 versus $150 discussion above.

I would have been happy with either but was especially happy with $416 in e-Rewards dollars. I agree with your ratio.

Maybe Dynata gathered people from other survey-type sites and used US $150 as a "generic" value of the rewards through any particular site.

$15 e-rewards bonus offer

May be targeted, received an email 10/18 with the subject "$15 Halloween Boo-nus for [bob12403] inside." Halloween themed offer, complete 5 surveys by 10/31 for $15 bonus. I completed five and the bonus posted [GASP!] the next day.
Good luck!

Good luck!

I received it the day after I completed 10 surveys. Since I received it I have qualified for one $1 survey :-) Plenty of time left though.

Steve in Olympia Oct 19, 2022 11:02 am

The bonus posted instantly when I completed 5 surveys, all of which were very short surveys.

My $15 bonus (actually worth about $5.41 in real money) also posted instantly after I completed the fifth survey. I do not recall an offer like this before but I hope to see more of these in the future.

FWIW I just had a popup from e-rewards saying that I could redeem 80 points for 7,000 Hilton points instead of the normal 100. I just made the transaction so it's live - at least for me.

beachmouse Nov 1, 2022 6:52 pm

Annoyingly the fine print still said one redemption every 60 days for me when I checked earlier so I can’t make what could be a very useful run on them.

I'm in the same boat, I have to wait until November 14 for the 60 day window to open. When they offered United miles at a discount in September 2021 the promotion lasted at least 3 weeks, so maybe there's hope.

EDITED TO ADD: I just saw an email announcement from e-rewards about the promotion. It states "For November only, we’ve reduced the e‑Rewards currency needed to redeem for Hilton Honors Points." So it looks like there's some hope for those of us waiting for the 60 day window to re-open this month.

The e-mail I got had:

1,000 Hilton Honors Points for $20 eRewards currency

2,500 Hilton Honors Points for $40 eRewards currency

4,500 Hilton Honors Points for $60 eRewards currency

7,000 Hilton Honors Points for $80 eRewards currency

Obviously, 7,000 points is the best deal, but for those who are very low on e-Rewards dollars, the other options may be attractive.

apeortdz Nov 3, 2022 4:37 am

Sadly for me, I redeemed $100 for 7000 Hilton points on 12Oct so I am not eligible for 60 days and the deal will be expired.

beachmouse Nov 3, 2022 5:29 pm

My 60 days were up today and the system in theory let me do 2x7000 Hilton points in a single redemption request. Will have to see if they actually post in a month or so.

apeortdz Nov 4, 2022 1:26 pm

I was wondering how much time you all spend on e-rewards surveys each week. I would guess I spend 5-hours per week typically. That is about an hour each day and near zero time on the weekend days (mainly because the number of survey opportunities is low on the weekends).

Can't really answer you directly since I tend to do it in streaks. Hadn't done any in a few months, then saw the $15 bonus for completing 5 surveys so decided to give it a shot. When you do the conversion/take into account $1 E-rewards = $0.36 or whatever it is hard to justify spending the time unless I'm just on the couch watching football or a movie (like now). Every now and then though a survey pops up that is worth it (the 'Business' survey below only took about 15 minutes! :O )

TommyD2, you are correct. It is only worth your time if you are multi-tasking. I figured out that I earn between $5 and $7 per hour net after taxes. So, it is only worth my time if I am watching TV or have nothing else to do while I am doing surveys.

I do a lot of surveys while I'm killing time, except on weekends when they seem to dry up. I'm retired so I have a lot of free time. Is it worth it? Last month we flew in Premium Plus seats on United to London to go on a British Isles cruise. I booked good hotels for the night we arrived and the night before heading home. The flights and the hotels were booked on miles/points I have accumulated on E-rewards - so to me, the time I spend is worth it :-)

Has anyone successfully redeemed multiple Hilton rewards in a single redemption (and have the points appeared in your Hilton account)? If not, I will just do one redemption for 7000 points and not wait until the end of the month/promotion when I hopefully can accumulate more e-rewards currency.

I believe that Hilton posts on the last day of the month, so unfortunately you're not likely to get an answer to your question about points appearing in anyone's account before Nov. 30.

Interestingly, I had four items post to my account yesterday, and then everything else, including the one e-rewards 7K reward posted today.

Hilton postings finally have smoothed out. I redeemed on 24th, posted yesterday. The redemption before that took 6 weeks.

I received an email today from e-rewards: A holiday bonus of $10 for completing three surveys by Dec.21.

I am not certain if this is targeted, or if registration is required.

I don't believe it's targeted. I got it, a friend in another city got it as well. And I can't remember e-rewards ever requiring registration for these bonuses. In fact, the counter is already on my dashboard, without any registration on my part.
