C'mon e-rewards! You've not sent me a single survey since the promo started! Give me some love.

Here's a tad more data for those attempting to confirm/disprove AA theories.
I have previously redeemed erewards for AA but also for Hilton (annually), Blockbuster, and don't recall what else. I never received a targetted email. I never noticed any offer about this promo on my erewards page, though I do not check it on a regular basis; it is not there now. I redeemed $25 for 500 AA miles last week. I have not gotten the offer since (though I hoped to).
I've been a member of erewards for more than seven years. I do not recall which sponsor I originally used.

One more data point

AA was my original "sponsor" to e-rewards; perhaps that's a key criterion for the double earnings bonus offer

Halothane

My wife and I have both noticed that the surveys have dried up in the last week or so.

Not only have the emails stopped, I have never received the bonus points. I emailed them and got a "we are working on it" response. That was 10 days ago.

Looks like it might be time to expend all the points in the account.

I got the email about double points only after I had emptied out my account last month (for my final $100 AA award). The surveys are slowing but as someone who worked for a few years in Market Research, it's typical for US survey based market research to slow over summer - it should pick up again in the fall.

Why is this? (ER has been slow for me too for the past several months)

Oh, and this is slightly off topic, but maybe you can answer a question I've always had (and is likely of interest to other FTers). I alternate living in Chicago and a small Missouri town. For which, if I claim it as my main residence, am I more likely to get surveys? Is one type of demographic (city, rural) more coveted by survey companies like E-Rewards?

Its just the business cycle - I really don't know why, it's just one of those "we have always done it this way" sort of things. Part of it I think is that people take time off (customers and marketing managers both) and travel, part is that it looks low because many marketers get a little panic-y and so decide to do more marketing and market research near the end of the year when there is both holiday shopping and the end of the year in terms of figures for bonus calculations etc.

Typically, you would be of interest to more marketers in a large city than a small town, and a populous state rather than a small one. (Just because you are likely in the market for more goods and services in those locations than in a smaller area with limited supply / competition). That said, there will be surveys that look for all, however quotas for a national survey will fill very quickly for minor demographics so even if you get sent a survey, you are less likely to get through than if you are in a large demographic.

In US phone surveying, the oldest age groups and women are usually the first (non-geographic) quotas to fill, and its usually very hard to get non-anglo groups. I would imagine that online surveys are inverted - age at the younger end, more men than women, although probably still heavily anglo.

Curiously, incentivized surveys are typically thought to be a poorer indicator of opinion than those with no incentive due to the higher chance of false responses. However, they are quick, and no doubt cost effective.

No.

As I believe I stated earlier in this thread, I joined BEFORE AA was even affiliated in any way with e-rewards. Thus, I could not possibly have been invited by them.

Of course, it might be ONE of the criteria they use, but it clearly could not be the only one, or a necessary one.

Also, I think we all need to be patient w/r/t the posting of the double bonus. I hit $25.00 (since the start of the promo offer) more than two weeks ago (on May 27), and no doubling yet. I'll wait a few days more, then e-mail them. I suspect they are having some sort of implementation problems with the bonus.

I'm seeing this thread for the first time and report:

I got no 2x email.
I don't see anything re: the promo on my ER page.
I have never redeemed for AA, only NW, HH and US (once out of desperation).
Frequency of surveys seems to be normal.

I had this offer on my home page, but it disappeared. When it didn't post, I emailed e-rewards. Reply was that it was for those who have redeemed for AA miles. I wrote back that I have redeemed that reward, got a message that they were investigating, then that the bonus would post shortly. I redeemed for AA a couple of days ago, and got an email with the double bonus offer.

I've earned over $154 in e-rewards since April 20, and have only earned 1 $25bonus. 10 business days haven't passed on the $125 and $150 marks, but they have long passed on the others (I passed $50 on May 6, $75 on May 8, and $100 on May 17). I just sent them an email inquiring when I would get the additional bonuses. We'll see. tls

(Bolding mine)

That's what I've thought all along -- that the promo was targeted at those who have redeemed for AA miles.

And it's a very nice promo. However, they sure have had LOTS of problems executing this thing! Grrrr... Now we (targetees) have to watch our accounts like hawks and follow through with e-mails to customer service.... But then, that's somewhat par for the course with erewards anyhow.

That's why I said "a key criterion" (singular)
