Costco has their usual $10/off coupon in the mail today. It's good for $10 off Deluxe, Deluxe with State, Premier with State, and Home and Business with State. It's good 1/7 through 1/24. I don't know offhand what they're charging in-store.
deluxe = $29.99 deluxe+state = $39.99 premier = $62.99 premier home bus = $69.99 all include efile. |
Mrs bj2757 bought the Deluxe version at the Military BX - she bought the Fed/State version I really didn't need, but she said they didn't have just the Fed version. She paid $59 for it (whoopee no tax). There wasn't any indication of a rebate with it or in the packaging, but a quick trip to the Intuit website shows a $10 rebate is available in most cases.

Yesterday I saw an H&R Block tax software package displayed next to TaxCut. The H&R Block package was $15 for the base level compared to $25 for TaxCut. I didn't have my reading glasses with me, so I was not able at the time to determine if it was roughly comparable to TaxCut, etc., but given the brand and the placement in the store, I assume it is.

This does NOT include the state version if you need that. Costco's DO include a state version.

Your input truly does help make TurboTax better for millions of other customers " Also, if you hvae a Fidelity or Vanguard account you can get online products for free or discounted. Details will be available in a few weeks. |
the vanguard prices:
Vanguard clients will receive a discount of 25% off Intuit's list prices for both the federal and state versions. Members of Flagship Services will receive complimentary access to the online version of the Deluxe federal and state products. Federal Deluxe $22.45 State Basic: $27.20 Looks like costco is the better deal, plus I like having the CDs. |
Most of the deals I've researched look good, but are silent as to the state e-file. When I've checked some of them further, it turns out there is a large charge for for that final e-file.
Anybody know if their reported deals include FREE state e-file? Romelle |

I always package up my purchase (TurboTax, Norton Anti virus and every few years Quicken)....
Seems no one ever mentions the TurboTax basic verision (I don't need state).... Basic seems to have all the forms for doing itemized deductions - and even Schedule K-1 for partnerships (stock club)... So wondering what "Deluxe" gives that basic does not. It implies that it will only do an EZ in the online, but the desktop seems to handle 1040 with a schedule A (I hope). |
We had a nanny for a few months out of the year and need to pay her SS and medicare. Do any of these programs offer some sort of form for that?
