30% off ANY TurboTax via Borders Rewards Perks

Got an e-mail from Border Rewards, if you sign up for Borders Rewards Perks (i.e. a program where you voluntarily agree to be spammed by Borders Partners), you can get 30% off of any TurboTax product download as this week's Deal of the Week.

So I sold out and did it. It works, and it applies to Basic, Deluxe, Premier, and Home & Business versions.

Try pricegrabber.com

I just bought Turbotax Premier with State for $55.99 incl shipping using pricegrabber.com. The merchant was Asena. Ships via USPS first class.

I'm sure they'll charge you tax but what about shipping?

Costco.com says shipping is $5 on Deluxe. Although someone above said their shipping was going to be $12, so not sure if it's the same for all versions, or whether that was a different than usual shipping method. (The shipping should not be different, clearly, as I don't think the boxes are any larger/heavier.)

Used this last year.

Used this last year fro Federal filing for free. Works fine. Turbotax more user friendly tho. But free is free.

QUOTE=twinsflytoo;8976740]Or for a better price, free. I've never used this product, but found this link on DealNews.

Last weekend turbo online went down for a whle.

Last year on April 15, turbo online went down delaying thousands from filing returns.

Go ahead, take your chances with the online version. As for me, I'm happy to wait for a discounted CD from a local retailer and will be sure not to wait until April 15 to e-file.

Costo.com has Deluxe TurboTax Plus State with free shipping right now. I'm not a member, so I had a surcharge. My total came to $23.93 with tax, shipped. (E-filing isn't included.)

Staples matched the Costco price. I brought a page print from costco.com and the cashier verified it online.

- $9.95 for BOTH fed. and state e-filings (FREE to military personnel)
- Converts returns in pdf files you can save.
- Can use last years info saved on your account.

taxslayer.com

that sounds awefully cheap, anyone with experience. Last year I paid someone to do my taxes, but it was terribly complex ... this year I should be able to do it myself ... but it will be the first time in the US (my first 2.5 years in the US were tax free thanks to a tax treaty :D ). Is this ok to use for someone who has never filed a US tax return before? I have nothing special to deduct, just the usual things such as mortgage and so on.

Costco price is $31.99 here in SAT. -$15 coupon brings it to $16.99 in store.

No state income tax in TX. :) ^

FREE Filings- Most based on AGI and Age

Found this site a few years ago. It shows 20 different sites that offer free federal filing. Enjoy!:D

I was at Costco about a day or two before the Turbotax coupon became valid. When I returned later to take advantage of the coupon, the price had been raised. Still a good deal, but I think I paid $21.99 plus tax.

A week ago Staples had deals for both TurboTax Deluxe F&S and Quicken Deluxe for about $100 total with $60 in rebates. Staples rebates are nice as you can apply via the internet with immediate acknowledgement. Overall this beat Costco pricing.

Only if one wants Quicken, which, for online banking access, only needs to be upgraded once every three years.

However, I did notice another interesting thing in the box. There is a $10 mail-in rebate coupon that is valid if you purchase any of the following products at any of the participating retailers:

That rebate was the only useful thing I found in that mailing.
