Since the "free" 20oz. Coke Zero coupon from the Fall Football Coke Zero promo is really only "free" up to $1.29, can anyone give a good location that actually sells 20oz Coke Zero bottles for that price or less AND takes manufacturer coupons. (Texas, in my case).
I only found a Texaco, but they don't take coupons. Forget the dollar store chains (only 14oz below that), the grocers, the pharmacies, and even Wal-Mart, which are usually $1.45 to $1.55 (and only one bargain at $1.39). In most cases, a 2-Liter is cheaper than the 20oz, but this coupon doesn't allow another size. Yes, I could pay the difference, but that's not the point.... Is anyone at Coke aware of the pricing going on out there for 20oz?? Should I write and ask if they'll exchange for coupons for a 2-Liter?

Seriously? All this over 10 to 20 cents? You said you do realize the coupon is still good for $1.29. You only have to pay the extra amount above that. Pay it. Coke is not going to exchange coupons.

The whole point here is "FREE should be FREE", and you should not have to make up the difference. If thats the case the coupon should then read $1.29 off your next 20 oz. purchase. I agree with flyzabit.
So does the logic you're applying to the Coke offer--"FREE should be FREE"--also apply to the BOGO store offer? If you feel the twenty-cent differential on the Coke offer is inherently unfair, how about a $100 differential on the socks /microwave freebie? Both Coke and the store are putting a limit on the value of the free offer to limit their cost. Free offers of every stripe come with asterisks. As long as the company clearly states the limitations of the free offer, I see no problem when they say there are limits to what they will allow you to get for free, whether it's a price ceiling on the free item, or a stipulation that the lowest-price item in a BOGO offer is the one that's free. |

Hypothetical question: When you go to your local department with a "Buy One, Get One Free" coupon, do you inform the sales person that you want to buy the pair of socks and get a microwave oven for free? If so, I'm confident the salesperson will tell you that the free item is always the lowest price item.

Also on previous coupons the value was up to $1.79, more in line with the normal selling price. On the McDonald's promo it had listed the ARV for a 20 oz. was $1.79. Comparing a pair of socks to a microwave has nothing to do with a FREE 20 oz. Coke coupon that has a ARV of $1.79 by their own admission and should be FREE, without having to make up the difference. I don't care if its 20 cents or a 2 cent difference. Its the principle of the whole matter that counts. If its not going to be FREE then call it a $1.29 off coupon. Don't try to insult everyone using your product. |

What ticks me off about the coupons is the coke store in Vegas won't take them. I tried using a couple when I was in vegas earlier this year and was told they wouldn't accept coupons (even though this was a coke store and they were coke coupons) and was told to go to Walgreens of 7-11 down the street. |

I thought the coupons were good for up to $1.79 Most manufacturer coupons for a free item have a $ limit on them. There have been reports of people using the coupons at stores selling the coke products for less than the max amount printed on the coupon and having the max taken off their total by the cashier instead of the purchase price so it can work out in your favor as well.
I wonder if this was a misprint or if Coke is purposely trying to take advantage of their customers? |
