Well I can't speak for them as I wasn't there but perhaps they were tired or just wanted to get back. It was at night after all.

Uber Van in Paris is great for large families. Normally with 6 people you'd have to split the family and take two taxis, but Uber Van, which has always has been a Mercedes for me, is cheaper than two taxis. And very comfortable. ^

Ok. Uber in Lausanne - sort of works. I tried using one to get from the train station to my hotel in St. Sulpice and it took him 25 minutes to get to the train station. (traffic). Didn't seem to be a ton of coverage.

As for Munich - don't bother.

Could you explain? Don't bother because it's not much cheaper than taxis? Or there's too much traffic? Or there aren't enough drivers?

Not enough drivers. I've been to Munich twice this year - the first time, I took an Uber from the airport, but it took a while for him (15+ min) to pick me up. On my second trip, I took the S-Bahn to city center, which is a better idea anyway.

And in both trips, when I opened up the Uber app while in or near the city center, there might be one car, but it usually said "no cars available."

That's interesting, I was in Munich for two days in October and used the app a lot, there were not a ton of cars, but I never had to wait more than five minutes in the city center. I wonder if something has changed?

I used it a year ago while there. Took about 20 minutes for one to become available (we were at an S-Bahn Station near the heart of the city). Driver was very friendly though and got us where we were going quickly for a low price.

Recently took UBER from CDG T1 to the Pullman which was close by as I had lots of luggage (there is of course the free train as well). Driver took about 20mins to turn up and finally had to meet him at the departure hall as there was supposedly some construction on the lower arrivals level which prevented him getting to me.

Heading back from the Pullman Roissy to T2 I again booked a UBER and he arrived quickly.

Both times friendly drivers who also assisted with the luggage.

Manila - very satisfied, a much better option than the thieving taxi drivers with their battered old bangers.

Bangkok - Used once to the airport at B500 flat rate which is more than a taxi would cost IF the meter was used, however try finding one who'll turn it on.

London - Cheaper than a black cab and just as good. From an airport hotel to Terminal 4 the cost for two passengers was the same as the Hoppa bus.

Tallinn, Estonia - Took UberPop to and from TLL. Nice service, both drivers assisted with luggage. One who spoke English was very friendly and talkative.

Plentiful Uber, and cheaper than a cab (at least the one from town to the airport). It was half the price of an airport taxi.

Service started in November 2015. Both drivers I had were excellent and they were both reasonably priced.
