QR and Airbus lawsuit is finally over...

This is great news for us in Europe where Qatar had its largest fleet of A350-900 and A350-1000 (And a large base of QSuites)
Curios what y'a all think if this is going to have an impact even for 2023? Due to inflation, high fuel costs and shortage in staff would Qatar put the whole A350 feel back in service this year?

I personally hope so as I'm stuck with Finnair this year as Qatar have more or less stopped flying form Scandinavia and rely on Finnair to do the heavy work..

Sorry if this have been posted elsewhere, couldn't find any posts.

There's discussion about this from post 103 onwards in this thread: A350 grounding - what is the longer term solution beyond re-utilising A330s?

I think the A350 is better for 2 reasons: the 3-3-3 config is better than 3-4-3 (one less middle seat) and the higher humidity on board.

Assuming you get the upper deck seating. I guess you could also weigh being seated at the back of the deck vs possibly being at the front of the A380 lower deck but to me it's only helpful when disembarking so I'd still take the upper deck

Unless you consider A380 upper deck

The upper deck is definitely nicer than the lower deck; the humidity is still lower than on the A350. I do love the A380; I think the A350 has the edge for Y pax (especially if you consider all Y pax). It is a matter of preference tho.

I probably should have mentioned that I was thinking more about travelling with family. I prefer a 3-4-3 with a family of 4 as you can all sit together. As an individual traveler, the A380 has a lot more exit row seats which I always go for.
A350 is also good for an individual traveler in economy.

I find the A380 economy seats to be more comfortable (slightly wider, slightly better pitch) so that wins it for me!

Upper deck service is an added bonus.

I wonder how the brain trust at QR will react to Emirates sending an A380 on the DPS route.

I doubt it'll even register. QR is/was quite happy to put old config 777s on this route.

The question is whether the uptick in travel is temporary (revenge travel) or whether it is here to stay. Higher capacity to holiday destinations might not be warranted on the long run (global inflation woes and all).

On the other hand, there are LOTS of Russians in Bali nowadays; not sure how that affects travel.

Indian, Korean, Chinese, American, and several other airlines, including Garuda have asked(or have now) extra slots. They must think that Bali will be very popular this year. There goes the neighborhood. The DPS airport is making the necessary adjustments to handle the A380 and all the people that will be off loading.

They'll need to increase the number of touts in arrivals to match the unrivalled demand of an A380 arriving.

Looks like one frame has returned to service? (A7-ALP, stored Aug 2021, started flying again last week)
