Flying ZHR-DOH-SEZ in 12 days
No e-mail received but when I go to the manage my reservation in Qatar website I got the following offer :
QR 0678; DOH-SEZ; O-R; 259 CHF (~278$)
Seems a good deal for a 5h15 flight in a 777-300ER, so I accepted.
From your experience, do you think I may also obtain an offer from the leg ZHR-DOH as we get closer to departure, or their is very little chance if they already did a proposal for the second leg?
When I check at Expert Flyer, 4 seats are blocked, 7 available, 25 already reserved.
Would love to try the Business Class in the A350, even if it's not a Q-Suite configuration

As we are flying in 4 days, I did not expect an offer for the leg from Zürich to Doha.
However, today under manage booking, I can see the following offer :
QR 096; ZHR-DOH; O-P; 493 CHF (~532$)
Apparently the equipment has been changed from a A350-900 (no Qsuite) to A350-1000 with Qsuite). I assume that’s the reason they offer me an upgrade as the initial plane had only 36 Y seats (fully booked) and the new one has 46 seats.
Not the best deal, but really want to try the Q suite that is uncommon from Zürich
Apparently the upgrade mention P class now (new Business Lite) while my leg from Doha to Seychelles that I upgraded 10 days ago mention R class (Buisness Classic).
I wonder if this ticket will give me access to the lounge in Doha, as they announce that starting 1 October, lounge is again included in class R ticket.

It shouldn't. Lounge access is specifically excluded as per the T&Cs of the offer, as you do not actually hold an R-fare ticket, but the underlying Economy fare originally booked. Whether the lounge dragon will be aware of this is another matter, but sometimes the check-in agents will even write NO LOUNGE on the boarding pass to drive the point home.

A bit strange that the first leg is more expensive in my inboud and less expensive for the second leg. Will wait for my PCR test results before taking a decision.

Looking for some advice. I know nobody can tell me anything 100% with my situation, more looking for anecdotal experiences if anyone comes close to my situation. I'm looking to travel YUL-DOH-HKT. I'm looking to book the whole thing with BA Avios. The YUL-DOH leg is in J but the DOH-HKT leg is in Y.
First off, does anybody know what fare bucket you end up booking into on QR if you purchase a Y award via BA Avios? I assume that would make some sort of difference.

It depends on the loads. If you are planning to fly during peak season where schools close and Pakistanis, Indians, Persians, etc... go visit their family during Christmas holiday, you might not have that much luck but if you're traveling mid-week on early-November and early-December you might have a chance.

Flying from DOH to LAX this week, just got an offer for $1400 USD to upgrade to Q-Suites...
It's on my bucket list to fly them, especially for a 16 1/2 hour flight - but I'll try my luck at the airport. If they can go between $800-$1,000 I'll pull the trigger.
If not, crossing my fingers for a poor-man's first class with a row to myself.

Nov 9: QR 764 YUL-DOH from W fare in Y class.to J. CAD 2030 at checkin. 10+ J seats empty. Y was about 95% full
