FT: "London. Can you pick me up there instead?"
QR: "Okay, fine."
Yes, this is what QR are doing. For those re-scheduled on AMS-DOH QR are allowing changes to start at LHR.

You already completed your renegotiation by proposing a change to your origin and having QR accept it.

Indeed - because I was mislead by the phone agent as demonstrated by exeu2017.

Misled how? QR will not re-book your inbound to a new destination due to a time change to your outbound - presumably this is what you were told by QR when you spoke to them? They will allow you to move the departure point for your outbound due to the 6 hr time change which is what you chose to do.

Perhaps someone got lucky and has managed to slip their change through, but you were correctly advised.

I appreciate you have a different view, but that is your view and not what QR will do (or indeed any other airline I know of would do).

I managed to change my return from NRT-DOH-AMS to HND-DOH-LHR; however they've given me the wrong date, principally because the two dates sound similar but also because the flight is now 00:01 - albeit I thought I had been very clear in what I asked for. I'm now waiting on the call being listened to for them to confirm agent error before correcting.... fingers crossed. If it works out, I'll be very pleased.

Changes agreed

We were booked on the AMS-DOH-HND and we had the time change back to 1640hrs from 2235. I was away and only able to contact the UK number this morning but that did allow me to look at the excellent info and advice on FT.
Anyway- I called this morning and had about a 10 min wait and I asked for the change outbound to become EDI-DOH-NRT which the agent had a quick check with a supervisor and they are now both changed and tickets issued. This has been a help with reduced positioning and back to the short change at DOH and a better earlier arrival into NRT.

Thanks everyone as always !

Keep trying - and yes, HUACA is indeed as you have said.

FT has a wonderful Glossary of the abbreviations used, so it's worth a gander - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/gloss...tterSelected=*

I don't suppose anyone wants to share the wording they used to get both outbound and inbound flights changed would they?

I totally appreciate Qatar don't need to offer that - but as some people have managed it, I'd love to know how!

Just had my 4th unsuccessful call.
