From someone working for QR the problem with the A380 is the interior design. He said it’s different from the one QR wanted and agreed to. Seems like something similar to the QR lounges outfitting

Come on QR. No more delays. I'm on QR4 in early August and am really looking forward to experiencing the A380 F. Hoping the revised date is the last change.

Would be realy interesting to know what this is all about. As i expect QR must have had regular and frequent inspections on the aircraft, also during cabin furnishing, i just cant imagine this being something big. Info anyone?

LHRtraveller1996 don't get your hopes up.
The introduction of the 388 is beginning to look a little like the opening of HIA but on a more condensed timescale.
I do note that dates are seemingly being given for when information will be available. This is a great improvement on the HIA opening.
Who knows maybe it will enter service without the First class cabin being available to start with!

Given that no other airline has had problems, and with Qatar's track record at delivering anything at all on time, I'm willing to bet the problem does not lie with the supplier

phol,
SkyMark also delayed their aircraft by up to 6 months for cabin related issues. Such issues are not uncommon. A certain airline rejected a brand new A320 after about 1 year delay from the original delivery date due to continuous testing and rework, but it didn't meet spec in the end and its in storage right now.
Some of the common issues are things like scratches, defective components and things like vibration and noise. It could be that for example the cabin fixtures are fine on the ground but vibrated out of limits inflight. For certain cabin defects such as scratches and scuffs the customer has the option of accepting financial compensation in exchange for the customer accepting the aircraft with the defects, or the customer has the right to ask for rework.

In conversation with QR cabin crew yesterday (Mrs PtF and I were in F on QR001 DOH-LHR) I was advised that the reason for the delay in the introduction of QR's A388s is a QR requirement for Airbus to re-paint the aircraft - apparently Airbus has used an incorrect shade of colour.

According to EF, the first A380 flights (QR 3/4) are now August 1.
A few more days delay and I'll be on the inaugural LHR-DOH flight.
