Anyone knows whether they'll open up the F cabin to upgrades with QCredits?

Thanks to this thread I have just:

- changed my own late June 2014 QR009 J DOH-LHR segment (of a CAI-DOH-LHR itinerary) to QR003 F;

- booked Mrs PtF also in F on the same flight (at an ex-CAI CAI-DOH-LHR-DOH-CAI fare that was simply too good to resist ).

There appears to be an issue selecting F A380 seats on QR's web-site; so I'll contact them to resolve that.

Once again, thanks to all those who have contributed to this thread. ^

A quick phone call to QR in Doha confirmed seats 1E and 1F for the missus and I. New airport, new A380 - looking forward to it.

QR just posted 3 pics on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...6853861&type=1

Hope it's an open page, so you who do not follow them can see the pics.

To those of you lucky enough to fly in First, I wish you a lovely trip :-)

The economy seat map shows no seat at 67D. Probably the floor hatch being at the 67D position?
That will make 68D a popular Y choice, being an aisle seat with no seat in front.

Upgrade request was declined, no availability apparently. Not a total shock to be honest, brand new aircraft tend not to be open to upgrades as they're trying to attract revenue customers into the new product.

Still looking forward to sampling the bar area though!

I have read there will be a bar - where will it be, and will it be simiar to the EK A380 bar in J?

Thanks, but it does not say if it is only for F or even J passengers can use it. Also it refers to a lounge and not a bar. So I am assuming there won't be a bar, just a lounge area, which on airlines like QF goes wasted and unused.

Says it's for F & J in the first paragraph.

Take your point about it being called a lounge rather than a bar though, I'd assumed it would include a bar. Nothing to stop you taking your drinks down there & asking the crew to top you up I suppose, not as good as an insitu bar though. Hmm...

It is certainly a bar.

Great! Do you have a link or photos of it rather than just the seating part please?

The last sentence is interesting. Taken from -

http://www.flightglobal.com/news/art...-cabin-396630/

The economy cabins occupy the entire main deck and part of the upper deck, comprising 461 seats in total. The main deck incorporates a 10-abreast 3-4-3 layout. The upper-deck economy cabin seats 56 passengers, with the airline's frequent flyers being given priority for these seats.

The upper deck economy configuration is 2-4-2.

The Inflight Entertainment Equipment boxes, so often a cause of irritation in QR's current fleet, look so much slimmer.
