I just booked two J fares HKG-LHR at 12,307HKD each today. Is that at a promotional cost? I wasn't aware that there was a sale when booking. Couldn't get a credit card payment through online, had to eventually try Pay Pal. At the time I was holding off of on booking BA PE at almost same cost.

Indeed it is. Today I booked QR business class tickets for my wife and myself CAI-DOH-HKG and return for March 2014 for a shade over USD1k each - and that includes Avios and 400 BA Tier Points per person. Coupled with a HHonors Conrad Hong Kong reward stay (5th night free) I'm extremely happy. ^

On this occasion - and despite it being a leisure trip - sadly not. While the HK 7s take place 28-30 March 2014 Mrs PtF has to be back in England before the end of March (to coincide with the start of Master PtF's boarding school Easter holiday).
The main purpose of the trip is to buy a few new suits at W.W. Chan; plus other shopping, eating, sightseeing, etc.

Not seen a LHR-HKG J fare like that on QR for some considerable time. Long layover on the way out mind but worth it for the money saved. And there are worse places to spend overnight than the Premium Terminal (assuming NDIA isn't open by then
).
