iirc, exit row seats only open at check in, on a first come first served basis...

SO I have 2 options and I wanted opinions. I only want to do 1 leg upgraded. I can do

Nairobi to Doha (6 hours) for 76k for me and my daughter

or

Doha to PhL (13 hours) for 110k.

I'd be transferring points from my SPG acct. I have a few hundred thousand points. Really just want the experience for me and my 6 year old daughter. I've heard that I won't get the email for a cash upgrade with her booked on my ticket.

Thoughts anyone?

About your upgrade, please bear in mind that most NBO-DOH flights are operated with A320's with recliner seats in business class. Only one of the rotations has a A330 with fully flat seats (and even then, it might be changed to a smaller plane). I would suggest upgrading the DOH-PHL flight if you find award space.

Also, be mindful of your travel dates / upgrade requests when it comes to making the transfer of your SPG points. Can't speak for myself but have read reports in this thread of SPG points transfers taking several weeks to arrive into PC accounts. (If that's where you are making the transfer to).

Do I have to transfer to Qatar? Or could I upgrade from AA. I feel like if the upgrade isn’t available, I’d be able to still use the 110k miles on AA with no problem.

I am not very familiar with the AA program, but I don't think you can upgrade a QR ticket. You could book directly an Award ticket directly with AA: I don't think AA displays award seat for QR, you can check award availability in British Airways Exec. Club. (You will need to create an account if you don't have one).

Hi guys, I will be flying biz with a baggage allowance of 40kg+10kg(Silver). On the website it says maximum allowed dimension is 300cm (l+w+h). The 300cm is that the max. dimension for the individual bagage item or the combined dimension of all checked items? Thanks 😊

Hey guys,
i bought a SOF-MLE ticket in O. However i was allowed to upgrade DOH-MLE turn from O to U for 25k miles each (total 100k Qmiles for me and missus). I thought O was not eligible for cabin upgrade?

When was this? I think in the most recent round of changes O and T are now eligible again. Just not W (promo) and G (group).

O and T are eligible again for upgrades but only if booked under Eco Saver, not under Eco Promo.

Just 2 weeks ago, flying end of september, i was surprised i was allowed to do it. All done online and no problems faced. Even seat selection was done without any problems.

If it had been Promo you would not have been able to upgrade (in theory).

Given the advanced level of all QR It, I would not except their website to be able to spot Promo and Saver bucket list on a T or anything else ticket.
