I will be in FRA in July and want to go to Sydney for a few weeks. Very frustrated that I am unable to book the deal.
Contact the FRA Air China office... https://www.airchina.de/DE/DE/contact-us/european/

Decided to go for some Xmas sun to Thailand, picked up FRA-BKK-MUC 17 Dec- 1 January for GBP2050ish for 2 people just now.

For those that have flown these fares, if I book my positioning flights on Lufthansa (separate tickets) will the airlines interline my bags LHR- BKK and vice-versa?

Contacted them. Never heard back. Even sent the pics from my phone showing how far I could get with the booking. Deal is gone now. :-(

FCO-PEK-SYD is available for 2000€ in Z and 1800 in R from Air China. Sale ends Nov 30.

The above sale will come back for Black Friday / Cyber Monday (end of November).

The MUC CA sales office responds rather quickly and will book the ticket in their system if they get the same R inventory that you see online.

Except R was coming out at €1,500 vs €1,800.

Are you saying the fare sale will be back Cyber Monday?

This sale on CA is on quite often, this time had prices lower then usual but had limited dates available, similar sale will be on for BLACK FRIDAY and CYBER MONDAY as well as during Chinese New Year (SPRING FESTIVAL), every year is like that, no one can guarantee it will be in but in the past few years has always been.

i wouldn't say it is *that* often Friends looking to book this fare started planning their trip on 1 January 2019 for travel in late July, and Air China didn't have the offer in all that time. They ended up on China Airlines (for 2700) instead.

They do seem to have it a couple of times a year - usually late in.

Sale was available early FEB 2019 , there is a post about that sale as well as I book 4 tickets at that time, prices were a little higher (not a big difference) so if your friends missed it does not mean it was not on, 2018 was on for SPRING FESTIVAL, 11/11 CHINESE SHOPPING FESTIVAL and BLACK FRIDAY CYBER MONDAY, 2019 SPRING FESTIVAL, 11/11 as well so really possible will be on shortly again

Fair point. Perhaps it was the date availability on the Feb sale that was the the barrier for them.

This current (just finished) round for 1478 was available for the summer school holidays in Europe, which is what they were after.

My experience is 'yes' and no', i.e. LH will interline to CA on separate tickets but CA won't do the reverse.
