And was able to snag an OSL-xDOH-ADL R/T in early March for around 1500€.
No other decent airline has ever offered such consistently low prices on the Kangaroo / Kiwi routes (except in case of error fares).

Just remember that MCT is currently not ideal for transferring as all gates are bus gates which slows the deboarding process quite a bit. Things should change with the new terminal but I haven't yet seen any opening date and the most recent info is that they were conducting passenger tests at it.

Because I am really hesitating between Japan and Australia for a 10 day vacation... If I could stop in tokyo on the way back that would be awesome ! But every double open jaw itinerary I am able to quote is using I class...

Only works on the QR website, cannot find any OTA doing this, nor ITA matrix or Google Flights !
Thanks for catching this and informing us ! Now I need to figure out if I should try Vietnm airlines new 787 or China Airlines 359 to get to Tokyo

Well just booked the following:
LHR (PE - upgrade to J with Avios) - MCT (First) - DOH (Buss) - BKK (Buss) - DOH (First) - MCT (PE) - LHR
Used Avios to drop the BA PE ticket down to £471
Upgrade additional tax £53 + 20000 Avios per ticket
QR MCT - BKK £616
Nets me 90 + 60 + 140 + 140 + 60 + 90 = 580 Tier Points for around £1100

Or have I misunderstood ?
This is a cracking cash price (ignoring Avios costs), good find.
How many Avios in total is it ? You mention 20k upgrade but not how many were used to drop the PE price.
Cheers.

Factoring in the Avios costs makes it somewhat expensive. 40,000 Avios for the two upgrades, 5,000 to 20,000 for dropping the price to a total of 1,140£ + ≥45,000 Avios. HEL-DOH-BKK would've been ~£1,100£ + 20,000 Avios (ET award). While the routing via MCT earns 20 fewer TP, it does get an additional ~5,000 Avios (assuming the poster is still Silver) over the option via HEL.

The only downsides to opting for the HEL option is a) collecting 5,000 fewer Avios and b) having to fly J on the QR A320 (still preferably to Y+ in my book). The upside would've been: Spending roughly the same level of money but saving at least 25,000 Avios.
