It doesn't seem like the censors are working fast enough, because there are some highly critical posts that seem to be making it through.

Saw that. I was quite surprised.

Cool.

I've been recommending that all my Representatives take a look at this blog, and then do something about this out-of-control agency.

End of aLL electronics to be removed from carry-on bags

Well, well, a positive piece of news on the TSA Blog. No surprise that it was rogue TSA stations that were implementing an unofficial policy of all electronics out. Of course when the standard response when questioned on a policy is, "it's SSI", this crap can take place.

After some calls to our airports, we learned that this exercise was set up by local TSA offices and was not part of any grand plan across the country. These practices were stopped on Monday afternoon and blackberrys, cords and iPods began to flow through checkpoints like the booze was flowing on Bourbon Street Tuesday night.

Wish there was a secure side to the airport.

You mean Kip is actually admitting there is such a thing as a 'rogue TSA station'???

I've written several letters about this nonsense and as a result, I've received letters apologizing for it as well as phone calls from FSDs and DC TSA officials telling me that it won't happen again. Yet this nonsense continues.

They should be caned.

Think we can convince them to have us stop removing laptops? I was thrilled when I left Heathrow in mid January and saw the signs posted informing passengers about the end of that annoyance.

Of course I travel with an Asus eee, so pulling that out is almost as simple as hauling out the liquids baggie.

And yet, according to the TSA Blog, they apparently first heard of this problem on Monday. Then they proceed to pat themselves on the back for responding so quickly. How can anyone in good conscious write such tripe.

On Monday afternoon we began receiving questions about airports that were requiring ALL electronics to be removed from carry-on bags (everything, including blackberrys, iPods and even cords). This practice was also mentioned on several other blogs and left us scratching our heads.

My guess is that they don't have a conscious or that the people righting this are so utterly clueless that this really is the first time they've heard about it. Either one deserves a and a .

As soon as we can afford to get the better X-Ray machines in all our airports. Believe me, we want that about as much as you do.

It would be better to point them here.

I tend to think that this was the first the bloggers had heard of it, demonstrating (if there was ever any doubt) that the 'official' TSA complaint process is a complete sham.

I expect the blog is quite separate from the complaint office (distinct little 'empires'), and hope that the two implode each other .

An observation

Either posting anti-TSA comments on the blog has run its course or the mods are not allowing anti comments through in favor of posting more pro-TSA comments. Very few comments posted today.

And although "Gripes and Grins" has made a return, there have been no comments posted since Feb. 2.

Maybe they would be better attune to what is happening in the field by just reading this forum.
