I was flying MIA-LIM and an FA in Y told me to stay in J when I went there to use the bathroom. No problem, I though... 'for all that money you charge for J you can afford to clean the urine stain from my seat....'

Would you please post the actual letters? It would be nice to have something official to quote. Thanks.

Unfortunately, due a recent hard drive crash, the email responses from the TSA and FAA were lost (along with all my other .pst files).

However, the emails from the TSA and FAA sounded a bit like they were worded by a politician - essentially that neither group was aware of any such rule or policy. They did not go so far as to say there was no rule in existance, only that the person writing the email was unaware of any such rule. In other words, I didn't feel it was a message I could print out and hand to a FA as proof of anything one way or the other - and so I didn't print it out and try to use it.

On a humorous note, both agencies suggested contacting the other for information of this type: the FAA thought it was the TSA's domain, and the TSA thought it was the FAA's domain.

It's so much more humane to fly on non-US carriers outside of the US.

I've witnessed an incident where one female went into the forward lav. and tied it up for 45 minutes (after a member of our party started counting). Restricting people to a particular restroom is as asinine as the rule about no going to the restroom within 30 minutes of DC.

AA is always going overboard with their security this and security that drivel. They all need to take a chill pill. There is nothing 'special in the air' about an AA plane that puts it at a greater security risk flying MIA-LGA than my CO jet flying FLL-EWR.

A bunch of white haired business men standing in line to use the forward lav is about as much of a security risk as the pilot hijacking his own plane.

Why not just say "for the privacy and comfort of our first class customers, coach customers are asked to use the main cabin lavatories and refrain from entering the first class cabin" and "please minimize crowding at the forward cabin so the flight attendants have easy and safe access in and out of the galley while serving." Is that not the real reason these announcements are being made anyway?

Shouldn't the rules against congregating forbid people from sitting next to each other? People sitting next to each other could talk and, heaven forbid, plan things. If this sounds crazy (of course it does), then shouldn't the rule against congregating around a lav (serious question)?

What you wrote actually makes sense and it is right on target ! However, the "security" farse is more "fair" than the elitist class division !!!! Remember that most of the announcements are written by people whose I.Q. are pretty deplorable.

Cheers,
