staying downtown at edgewater and gf's b-day dinner will be next friday night. any recommendations for a place convenient to downtown?
she'd like anything that IS NOT sushi (obviously, since that's one of my favorites) or a steakhouse (my other favorite). she loves wine, and i would love some good seafood, so if i could combine the two then that would be awesome. trying to keep it less than $30 per plate and $12 per glass of wine. perhaps a wine bar/tasting prior to dinner and then off to dinner following that? i originally thought about Purple, but I'd like some more variation of seafood on a menu. again, something convenient to d-town since we won't have our rental car, yet, please
edit:
and as soon as i wrote that, i looked at Anthony's Pier 66 again and realized it was just within several hundred feet of our hotel. would this be an acceptable place for the occasion? maybe that would be best the night before or after?

i really like Anthonys. I believe that the downstairs is more "casual" and the upstairs is a little fancier. Certainly worth a bday dinner.
Maximilien in the Market is close by and very nice as is Waterfront Seafood Grill on Pier 70

My wife and I are flying to Seattle in a few weeks and we are interested in finding a great palace for Sunday brunch. I was hoping we could get some suggestions from fellow FT members. We are staying in some small motel that is over a Gaucho steakhouse restaurant. Its near the Space Needle I believe. My wife is not a fish eater so a purely seafood buffet would not do it for her. We are interested in tasty and innovative food. We will not have a car so any places easily reached by public transport and/or walking would be best. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions. If anyone has Austin Texas as a destination I would be happy to give some great reccomendations for brunch and for resturants in general.

Maximiliens, Le Pichet, or Steelhead Diner are nice non buffet options...all right around Pike Place Market... so definitely walkable from the Inn at El Gaucho.

One of the better brunches in town on a Sunday is at Chinook''s restaurant which is located @ Fisherman's Terminal. That is only about two miles north of your hotel. Yes there is some seafood on the menu but I would take a look at it.

Not not a "buffet" particularly. Why wife doesn't like them as she is convinced they encourage me to over sample. So those sound very good.

Our favorite restaurant in the lower Queen Anne area is the Crow.
Crow Restaurant

It's really fun to sit at the cook's bar and watch all that is going on.
