Intel from one of my sources (not my usual source so can't promise its accuracy) is that ET-AOR will be the first aircraft with the new cabin configuration.

Thanks, I'll try to remind myself to keep checking on AOR's activity on FR24. We can see when it starts and hopefully get a handle on how long each plane will take. WIth the requirement of the GE engined 788s on the US to ADD flights, I would love for ET574/575 to be consistently 1-2-1 business class seating.

DH and I are flying ET501 IAD-ADD September 22 and our seat assignments are listed as 2J & 2L -- but none of the seat layouts I've seen online for the Ethiopian A350 show any seats labeled 2J or 2L. Does anyone have a link to what this seat configuration looks like? When we originally booked I think it was scheduled to be a Boeing and we were supposed to have the two middle seats in row 2 (both with aisle access). I am unable to change the seat assignment online because we booked using United miles, so maybe I need to call.

In both Business and Economy, the window seats are always A and L, the aisle is always C and J and the center section aisles on widebodies are always D and H. The middle seats are B, F, G and K where applicable.

Ethiopian's own website shows the seatmap for the A350 as having the right side of the plane as JK, not JL. The only L seats shown on the A350 are in economy, which is why I'm confused.

I fly ET in J on award tix from UA miles and I make my own seat assignments on the ET web site under manage my reservation. You will need the ET PNR which is on your UA record. I always get the seats in the middle so we both have aisle access.

An off-topic recommendation is to check in fairly early for ET501 and then head to the UA Polaris lounge in the C/D terminal for breakfast. IMO it is one of the top 2 or 3 lounges at IAD and is virtually empty at that time of the day. You can then take the train back to the A/B terminal to catch your flight.

They still don’t have ATL as a valid “Bid for Upgrade” route on their Bidding faq site. They’ve been flying this route now for a year and haven’t updated their route listings so no surprise their seating chart hasn’t kept up either.
