This is the status of the fleet as far as I can tell, as of 31MAR15 based on http://www.srilankan.com/en_uk/flying-with-us/fleet and http://www.planespotters.net/Airline/SriLankan-Airlines.
Please update this wikipost if you have new/better information.
Total longhaul fleet: 67% chance of horizontal flat beds (for all J seats) - 10 aircraft of 15
Apparently the horizontal flat beds aircraft are not dedicated to any routes (including LHR) and, of course, last minute substitutions can always happen.
Future plans for 100% horizontal flat beds
The 333s on order are slated to replace the 342s, which will not be upgraded. It is unclear as to what are the plans for the 29% of the 332 fleet that have the old recliner seats, and therefore whether UL will ever guarantee a horizontal flat bed with your business class purchase.

DXB-CMB What can I expect in Jan'17
Most grateful for any updates on the Dubai-Colombo business product. I'm looking at it for Jan 2017. Looks like at the moment the A330-200s are plying the route, and from May A320s on Wednesdays and Saturdays though not applicable to my plans. So, last minute equipment changes aside, do I need to assume this is likely to be the recliner seats and anything better is a bonus?
Also looks like the A340s have left the fleet and there are now 7 A333s

According to the UL fleet page, all 8 330-200s have full flat beds. http://www.srilankan.com/en/flying-with-us/fleet-revamp
Update: Booked I class for £520 return. BA TPs (280) is baseline justification whatever the eventual equipment. Currently showing A332 outbound overnight and A333 on inbound evening flight...

I recently flew with 4 sectors with UL
1. PVG-CMB >> A330-300, new reverse herringbone J (4R-ALN)
2. CMB-MLE >> exactly the same plane as my PVG-CMB sector
3. MLE-CMB >> A330-200, a very old and tired looking interior albeit with flat bed
4. CMB-PVG >> A330-300, the newest A333 in UL's fleet with new reverse herringbone J (4R-ALR)
Personally, I found the reverse herringbone seats have very small area for your feet. If you sleep on your back, it's very hard to change position to sleep on your side as your feet will most likely get stuck. It also has less storage area compared to the flat bed in A332's J

The A320 has two bassinets in business class at the bulkhead locations on row 1
I have not travelled in the A330-300, so cannot confirm whether there is a bassinet at the bulkhead

Sri Lankan flight 890 from CMB to BKK to HKG showing the new A330-300 for January 7th. However , one week before it shows the same route using A330-200
Does anyone think Sri lankan airlines would swap the A330-300 for January 7th to the old A330-200 last minute?

Hi all,
Aw little OT but when flying UL J, is there separate checkin at CMB? Or is it only T-3hrs after first two security controls in main departures?
**answered my own question**!
