This is the status of the fleet as far as I can tell, as of 31MAR15 based on http://www.srilankan.com/en_uk/flying-with-us/fleet and http://www.planespotters.net/Airline/SriLankan-Airlines.
Please update this wikipost if you have new/better information.
Total longhaul fleet: 67% chance of horizontal flat beds (for all J seats) - 10 aircraft of 15
Apparently the horizontal flat beds aircraft are not dedicated to any routes (including LHR) and, of course, last minute substitutions can always happen.
Future plans for 100% horizontal flat beds
The 333s on order are slated to replace the 342s, which will not be upgraded. It is unclear as to what are the plans for the 29% of the 332 fleet that have the old recliner seats, and therefore whether UL will ever guarantee a horizontal flat bed with your business class purchase.

So no, they wont be upgraded.
My bet on the older 330's would be that they would go too.
UL is getting 6 new 330's within the next few years.

Last month I flew BKK-CMB-FRA-CMB-BKK.
On the first three legs I was on the same 330 (Version 1). Flat-bed. The last leg CMB-BKK was also on a 330 (Version 5) with the "new" flat-beds but the seats already showed much wear & tear. Even my head rest was borken. (didn't stay up.)
Sorry I cannot tell the reg. nbrs.
I hope very much that the business class cabin on their new planes get a second lav. The current situation is only one exclusively for C and the two ones (Version 5: four) at door 2L/R are shared with Y. Had the feeling that overall 50% of the time not one was vaccant.

I think short haul is more susceptible to equipment changes. the old seats are still comfortable for a few hours. but not really possible for a good sleep.

I called customer service (directed to the 24 hour number in Colombo) and the person said they have received am internal memo that "all 330 and 340 are now operating the flat beds in business class".
Not sure if this is an over-assumption to get me to hang up, or indeed the truth. Can someone corroborate that the cabin refurbishment is now complete? Has anyone taken these cabins recently and did NOT get flat beds?

I will fly the 340 tomorrow and report back end of the week about that certain bird. I don't have too much hope as their 340 seat maps still show Recliner.

The A330-300 J seats look very similar to Cathay's and EVA's version. It's sort of a teal-ish colour with white head cushion. Economy is blue. Very impressed!
