IMHO, threads like these should be highlighted in TalkMail. I learn SO MUCH from all the posts here

I had to laugh at "Seagull Management."
NJDavid did have many humourous posts on the CO Board, though the level of attack on that board by some posters did get out of hand at times, to say the least, with a former noted CO apologist always willing to fight fire with fire in return.
Realistically, though, as to alleged "Seagull Management," would it be expected that anyone could keep constant tabs on every thread 24 hours a day as posts happen, as opposed to "swooping down" and taking corrective action when threads are noted by moderators?
I have been "victim" of this as well. So what? Don't refs sometimes make bad calls?
It will be interesting to see if a purely "independent" board can remain financially viable, given the owner's statements that this board actually loses money.

Could there be something fishy about one condemning FlyerTalk to having seagull management? All because seagulls and airplanes on which frequent flyers travel both fly does not mean anyone has to flip the proverbial bird at anyone and ruffle any feathers here.
I personally do not sea why this umbrella of controversy exists in the first place or if any of the negative arguments in this thread hold a grain of sand, but if one actually has that nocean, then I suppose one could always renounce their FlyerTalk membership and wave goodbye in other words, shape up or ship out. I do not think anyone intends to cloud anyones judgement. I may be just winging it here, but it seems to me as though the sky is the limit on the frequent traveler information that can be gleaned from FlyerTalk. It makes little sense to make negative blanket statements about an Internet web site as helpful and informative as FlyerTalk. We should tone down the dune and gloom about FlyerTalk and use it for its intended purpose, however it suits us. After all, FlyerTalk is free for all of us to use, but I am shore that it coasts a lot of money to keep it in operation.
Somebody might air a complaint about the content of this post and ask me Water you talking about? but, as you can probably tell, I am having a ball writing this post.
To summarize this post, as the old saying goes:
Lifes a beach.

Well, speaking of "invasion," at least what happens when you type www.flyertalk.net is not as bad as what used to happen a few years ago when you mistakenly typed www.usps.com instead of www.usps.gov . (The letter P stood for a colloquialism for a certain domesticated animal, or vulgar usage for a bodily part.)
I believe a famous female singer (and would-be actress) actually won a lawsuit within the past couple of years evicting a group of religious sisters from using the .org website in the name of their patroness, who was born over 2,000 years ago and did not just decide to use the name in the 1980s.
I'm thinking of registering a domain myself for a new small business, a law office -- I'm admitted in California (inactive), Guam, and the CNMI. To be "safe," am I expected to register all the .com, .net, .org, and .biz variants of my proposed name?!
I guess self-help is cheaper than a lawsuit. We're not all "material girls" with money to burn on domain eviction.

The site has again been updated. There is mention of 'emailes received'. I have a bunch of questions of my own for the people behind this website. Does anybody know what email address they are operating?

Looking at the first replay on page 1 of this thread,
and if this guess is a winner, and if the e-mail user NJ David provided in his profile is accurate, you can use [email protected].
However, I do not know, if you will receive a replay or you have to wait until the next update of the site in question and if your questions will be answered or not. As a side note, Randy was nice enough to took his time and answer question one for those once more, who are interested in this topic:
Freddies are awarded to recognize the most outstanding frequent travel programs, as determined by the travelling public. I hope from now on everybody understand, how important it is that the "one person, one vote" rule will be enforced and that te organizers have a look that trolls do not have the power to influence the results. Randy also offered a healthy advise for all those who intend to rate their favourite FFP with 1:

They weren't being all that polite - gabbing away while I was presenting the Freddies and obvioulsy, when talking amonst themselves, really not able to understand what was being said. I mentioned that as the first year in which we threw out some of the votes (I can't remember the exact number, but maybe 19,000) BECAUSE, those who had voted did not validate their votes. For those paying attention, no big deal. For those that didn't pay attention, or for those that weren't even there, all they heard was we threw out some votes. Yes, we threw out some votes. The reason, we thought that in the prior year there might have been a few subtle attempts to pad vote tally. So by requiring each voter to validate their vote, we could effectively end any attempt to influence the Freddies. I had commented that it seemed among some of the votes that were not validated, that a surprising number of them had voted with just a "one". That might lead one to believe that the voters were purposely trying to lower a programs total ValueVote. </font>

My personal opinion is that you don't vote. The Freddies and likewise, FlyerTalk was not started with any agenda in mind. As stated, the Freddies are about what's good about frequent flyer programs. If you beleive that there is nothing "good" about them, then simply excercise your privilege to don't vote. Trying to force them to be part of your agenda isn't really what I personally call "playing fair" in life.
Actually, just trying to help members of these programs not embarass themselves. I mean, what does it really say about someone who openly admits belonging to a frequent flyer programs that they say only delivers 1 of ten in value to them as a member? I don't know about you but I'd be embarassed that I didn't change programs. If you're willing to accept that kind of value from a program - then it might be said you deserve what you get. Programs might change a little because of their Freddie ranking, but they change much more rapidly and appropriate if they notice their passengers aren't flying them any more.</font>

The question was what email address was used. I said presumably the email address in NJDavid's profile. Why presumably? Because someone might have a different address for NJDavid, because I have no independent knowledge that the referenced emails even exist (not saying they don't, I just don't know directly), and because I'm only making a conjecture.
I wasn't being coy about whether I was aware the site was tied to NJDavid.
