I don't think I was being hysterical. I agree about the double standard. I was only complaining about hypocrisy in posting about upholding the TOS with regard to personal information when one case -- in the same thread of messages -- was so blatantly ignored.

If people want to do a whois on the domain they are free to do so. Since NJDavid no longer seems to be around to complain about this himself I felt it necessary to point out the obvious omission in the above request to edit things.

EDITED TO ADD:

Thank you, gleff, for making the changes!

After all, Randy is not the only frequent flyer guru out there. Let's make this point clear for once and all.

That may be true but Randy is the one who has created FT and offered it to us. Name one person that has offered any of us a greater gift than FlyerTalk. From where I sit, Randy had given me access to a great many frequent flyer gurus, including himself.

Thanks Randy.

Please can someone enlighten me as to what happened.

I am guessing that back in the day Flyertalk was on a different domain, i.e. not www.flyertalk.com and then CameraGuy a Flyertalker defected and created www.flyertalk.com . This was then handed over as a gesture to Randy

Have I got this all ar$e about face????

The first order of business was to "officially" present Randy Petersen with the ownership of the URL for FlyerTalk.com. When the community started to get going a little over a year ago, no one knew it would become what it has. For that reason, NJDavid and others claimed stake to the FlyerTalk.com URL to protect it from others and have now officially turned its ownership over to Randy. In honor of this momentous event, they created a wonderful plaque with keyboard connected to an airplane and presented it to Randy along with the domain name. The PiP coincided with the official launch of flyertalk.com -- the new home of FlyerTalk. Visitors to the boards no longer have to enter through WebFlyer, and they can discover more than just the boards as the site continues to grow for its members.

Sorry for being a dumb (sometimes) blonde, but I do not have a clue of what you are speaking.

I would love it if you could produce one shred of evidence that I have exchanged a single e-mail with another FTer about this thread, this issue, or Gaucho's disappearance from FT lately up to this very minute.

Guess what? You can't... because I haven't.

Thus my comment on the vast conspiracy theory. I am not sure where this is all coming from.
