It was displeasure with the "Seagull Management" that prompted the return of moremiles.org.
It took no time at all for most folks to realize thet the grass is not always greener.
FT is the premier travel related BB. Hard to argue with that.

Did you know that Seagull Management Consulting AB is the actual name of a real company?

I wrote something to reply but decided to not post. (It's a plus to actually read your post before hitting the submit reply button.) The reason I didn't submit my reply is simple, it might have been labeled conduct unbecoming of a FlyerTalk member. and as much as I would be tempted to wallow, I think I have much more respect for other members. I think it appropriate to remember - you are what you post. I can turn my back and walk away proud.

The said site has been updated, and things are getting juicier. Agree with the author or not (and for the record, I do agree with some of what is written there), what I find lacking in taste and of absolutely bad form is that the author(s) chooses to hide his FT identity. I think that it would be appropriate for him/her to disclose who he/she is(was?) on Flyertalk.com. Else, it all smells of a vendetta.

Gaucho - well let's see. November 23 this thread advises of the existence of www.Flyertalk.org - perhaps it was up even earlier than that - I have no idea.
So here we are nearly 3 weeks later and there is more hot air venting from over there than from Mount Kilauea.
BUT still no board, still no Forums and still no links and still no posts.
I can't imagine at that rapid pace of development it is any threat whatever to FT - in this decade at least.
Because it is so patently hostile to FT with the recent additions there, I can't imagine too many FT folks will be prepared or interested to register or post there.
Lets face it - www.MoreMiles.org claims only 322 members (MOST of whom are inactive) and www.Tarom.net only 111 members. Neither figure will have Randy losing any sleep over them I suspect. One can only assume www.Flyertalk.org will attract far less than either of these two.
On www.MoreMiles.org most folks kept the same or a clearly identifiable handle to what they use here. I BET that will not be the case at www.Flyertalk.org - if it ever gets up and running of course.

Clearly neither is any threat whatever to www.Flyertalk.com which has clocked up over 2 million posts.
Both sites have tiny niche followings. (Although current threads like this make me wonder what the definition of "a total spoof site" really is when respected Flyertalkers like doc are openly called "morons"?) :

Apologies if it appeared to you (or anyone else) that I was connecting either site with www.Flyertalk.org - I certainly was NOT.
That latter site is not even a BB yet as was pointed out. And may of course never be at the current 'speed' of development.

Good for you Randy!!!
Like my Daddy used to say, "Discretion is the better part of a whole truckload of stuff".
I am certain that the world is a far better place for my occasionally having the good sense to know when to click the "X" and/or use the delete button.

Hey Randy, since I started this thread, can I ask you to lock it? Feel like I opened Pandora's Box of poo.

Tough call JeremyZ. Since there's at least one person here with something to say, if i close it they will start some Web site screaming that I mandate and edit and control and manipulate what is being said on FlyerTalk, though it's clearly being asked from you as the thread starter. No one really wins, because at least one of two members have to live with what they said here and it certainly allows any member, even me, to judge them by what they are responsible for - their own words. I read in a magazine the other day a comment that a wise man knows what he says. A fool says what he knows. And that all came from a fortune cookie.
If you don't terribly mind, I think I'll leave it open as there are many other comments here other than yours. Thanks JeremyZ and don't worry about starting the thread...

While I liked the original concept of flyertalk.org, I don't understand the reason to attack flyertalk.com and Randy. If you don't like the groups, cliques, or the way that Randy runs the site you are free to complain or comment here. I don't always agree with all posters (LOL) or the way Randy runs the site sometimes, however I do think that it is the best site for it's purpose on the net.
I also think that a site dedicated to actual FF could be very beneficial to me and that is why I am interested in such a site. If it is just a slam FT site, then I don't think it will have much of an impact.

I just dropped by cause I've been instructed to say that:
1) I will "no longer tolerate lies, hidden tactics and censorship;"
2) that I'm confounded when people only answer questions they feel like and only when they feel like getting around to it; and
3) that it sure seems wrong to me "to lick the feet of the advertisers at the expense of the community they purport to love."
There. Done what I was told.
Oh, wrong board, sorry...
