Himeno that is the same error I got when trying to book through AA from CPT (1st segment CPT-LHR on AA-coded BA-operated flight with direct connection to DFW on AA). It took all my details and went kaput at the last step. I wonder if there is a pattern of errors occurring with booking through AA when the 1st flight is not a simple AA flight?

The first flight in my case is JL ICN-NRT connecting to AA NRT-DFW [JL950/AA5833-AA176/JL7014] (it was going to be CX via HKG to ORD, but AA canned the ORD-ANC flights early this year). I have tired both the AA and JL codes on both flights.

AA took over ticketing for JL from QF when the JSA started.

I also had the same error with an itinerary but it mysteriously went away when I booked it over the net in Canada. Subsequent attempts to book a second ticket with the same itinerary kept failing with the same error. Alas I wasn't able to return to Canada or find a working Canadian proxy to see if it was down to the IP address.

Quote: I can no longer find DAR-JNB flights from about September onwards. I spoke to BA and they said the service is suspended/not operating in one or two months out of the next 12 but I've searched a large number of random dates well into 2012 and nothing.

Is anyone else having the same problem?
AA's South African office/rep has advised that this route is being discontinued, despite it showing in the downloadable timetable.

It's quite disappointing to lose the only flight that would allow a visit to both East and Southern Africa on a *ONE*

JL and NRT flights are missing?
I can't seem to get JL flights to appear for JFK-NRT and similarly I can't get BA and JL flights to appear when trying to do NRT-LHR. Instead I get AY flights which means I have to connect in HEL.

Anyone else seeing this?

15012 error
Hello:
I am getting the same error message referred to above and wonder if anybody has yet found a solution to it?

Quote:
The following error(s) occured

* The fare for the flights you have selected is no longer available.
Please contact American Airlines Reservations, the first carrier in
your Round-the-World itinerary, for assistance with making a new
booking.
oneworld and American Airlines apologises for any inconvenience this
may have caused. (15012)
My routing is amm-bkk-nrt-cgk-hkg-jfk-gru-lim-eze-dfw-SJO-dfw-lax-mad-ist-lhr-dxb.
Route is validated and price confirmed and then I am taken to the americanairlines.eu.amadeus.com site for ticketing. Enter passenger info and credit card info and then get the above error message.

I could set up the itin with AA RTW and then ticket in Jordan/Canada, but another advantage of the online tool is that it is ticketed in Dallas in USD so no foreign transaction fee.

Any suggestions?
Thanks.

I had this exact same issue with an AA issued for RJ AONE5. I gave up and purchased in Canada. Do you have a credit card that doesn't charge FOREX fees? AMEX Plat, Capital One, Citi AAdvantage WE MC all come to mind. I used a Cap 1 card.

This problem has been happening for a while. I have contacted oneworld about it a number of times. No response to date.

Follow-up to 15012 error
I posted above that I was getting the previously reported 15012 error at the final stage of booking an ex-AMM RTW using the online tool.
I really wanted to get it to work, but finally I have given up and will ticket it with the AA GSA in Cairo.
However, in the process, I had a couple of conversations with the Oneworld IT department and did find some information about the problem which may be of passing interest to some here.

Basically its the same old problem that weve seen elsewhere in that Oneworld and its airlines are still using two different systems: Sabre and Amadeus. The problem here is that the Oneworld online tool uses Sabre to build and validate the RTW. When you are ready to book it, and if it is to be ticketed by AA (as in the case of first flight on RJ), you are transferred to an Amadeus site for ticketing. (Its actually www.americanairlines.eu.amadeus.com). This site takes the passenger info, and payment info, but at the end, it looks to Sabre again to confirm the reservation and create the PNR. And it is this link which is causing the problem.

He said the problem most often occurs when AA is ticketing; it rarely occurs with other airlines. (They use a different ticketing site: http://wftc2.e-travel.com) He suggested that I use a different airline for the first flight. However, the only other airlines that fly from AMM are BA - and we know why we dont want them to ticket it! - and MA which only flies to BUD and then no way to get to Asia without losing more segments.
He said its often one particular flight that causes the problem, and codeshare flights are often the culprit. However, I tried eliminating the only codeshares in my itin (the baby LAN flights always show as LA xxxx - LAN Airlines operated by Lan Peru) and it still did not work.
I also tried creating a very simple DONE4 with only 6 segments, intending to immediately change to my 16 segment itinerary if it ticketed successfully. But it didnt.
He even called the AA RTW office for me to see if they would ticket it at the AMM price for me, on the basis that there was a technical problem preventing me from ticketing it online. But not surprisingly, they said they could not do that.
He said that they can send a trouble report to Amadeus for specific itineraries that have failed, but it takes a long time to get a response and in only about 20% of cases do they identify the problem.

End result: they are well aware of the problem, but cant identify what causes it or how to fix it!

A couple of other things I learned:
1) On the final booking page where you enter your cc info, the total price is displayed; there is a + sign beside this, and if you click that, it expands to a complete breakdown of taxes and fees, which you can print out without ticketing. Quite useful. Unfortunately the Fuel Surcharge is only shown as one item, not segment by segment, but if you go back and change one segment in the itin, you can see what effect that has, if any, on the Fuel Surcharge.

2) As we know, the Oneworld office is in the process of moving from Vancouver to New York. Unfortunately, some or all of the IT staff are not moving (they live in Vancouver; why would they want to go to NY??). The one I spoke to, who has been nursing the online tool since its inception, is leaving next week. Some new staff have already been appointed, but whether that means the tool will be fixed quickly, or take even longer to fix, remains to be seen.

Happy Travels

I had the same problem with an ex-AMM RTW, no matter what I tried it kept failing. After having removed all LAN segments though it worked just fine, might be a coincident but it after ~25 failed tries over a couple of days it worked on the first try with no segments on LAN.

Not sure if this has been noticed before. Doing some trial bookings, LONE3 ex-BUD.

If you choose the AA flight, BUD-JFK as the 1st flight, the fare is quoted in EUR and over 400EUR in fuel fines. It was a simple BUD-JFK-NRT-HEL-MAD-BUD, only BUD-JFK on AA.

Changed the BUD-JFK to BUD-MXP on MA connecting to the AA MXP-JFK. Price is quoted in HUF and no fuel fines listed. Though the largest 'fee' was 29,100 HUF ($133 US) Airline Insurance surcharge, which may be a fuel fine.

My guess is that with the AA/BA/IB JBV, the online booking engine is adding fuel surcharges when using AA as the 1st carrier. Though with BA as the 1st flight, the fuel fines were higher than AA, but not that much more.

Thanks for the "behind-the-scene" info. Is your xONEx involved with 3 or 4 continents.

First flight with QF - showing double the base fare
Put together a simple itinerary in J to show someone the tool:
PER-SYD-SCL-GIG-LHR-SIN-PER

The tools shows the base fare to be AUD23,998
which is exactly double what KVS shows as the ex-Australia DONE4 fare (AUD11,999)

Tried a quick change (start and end in HKG, first flight on CX)
now the tool bombs out with the error message
Quote:
No fare can be found for the flights and/or cabins you selected. Please search again and select another cabin and/or different flights. (5685 - 2201)

Update 19-Dec

both issues now seem to be fixed
- ex-Aus base fare is now correct
- ex-HKG now working

CX flights aren't showing up between AKL-HKG, for various dates in September 2012. The tool insists on routing me through SYD/MEL !! Wonder if that has anything to do with Cathay's planned systems outage this weekend.
