Hi, possibly from summer timetable, BA via its BMED franchise will be serving Djibouti again.

Sorry I have been away. I will be away for a bit more whilst I get a DC 10 accident report off my desk. Back soon, and I hope to get the new CAI fares soon. If I get a day, I will update the sticky.

Happy landings and may the status points be with you.

spottie.

Cathay flies into Karachi from Bangkok.
Appears that Malaysian airlines has some pretty cheap deals ex-Syd through KL to Karachi.

Anyone thought of this as a different option to Colombo ticketing??
BTW, flights from DXB to KHI are cheap. Including a a few low cost carriers. Some are listed here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DXB

Also potentially useful if you are nesting xONEx tickets and want a cheap way back into Asia from Europe/Middle East.

Assuming prices don't jump I'm quite likely to ticket ex-KHI in early summer. I've already mailed Cathay in KHI and they were able to quote me the same price as listed here/in the spreadsheet.

I've been trying to get the attention of the BMED agent in DAM for a week or so with no results. Seems a reasonable choice for AONE3 if not much else, and not too expensive from CMB via DXB. I guess I'll next see if BMED/London is willing to get into the loop.

Just for a lark, you might contact Blands Travel in Gibraltar. The Blands family owns BMed and they have a full service travel agency at GIB that knows how to issue xONExs. Maybe they know who the handling agent or GSA is in DAM.

Sounds more like golden advice than a lark - I appreciate it very much. BMED lists Sanadiki Travel Services as their Damascus contact.

It seems a little hard to believe that Tonga has gone from one of the cheapest *A rtw to more than double the next most expensive

The planners must have been into some mind-altering substances when they came up with those ex-CAI numbers. Nearly half again the price for the fourth continent. Discriminates sharply against the southern-hemisphere destinations since afaik they're all impossible on -3, but access to southern hemisphere shouldn't cost 50% more.

The cheapest what? You need to specify the class and the number of continents for that to be a meaningful question.

Thanks for the advice - but I assume that several of them are out of date - as with Egypt? Or am I wrong?

Exchange rates have also been updated.

Can I ask a silly Q? If one buys a RTW ticket in a certain destination (eg., Dubai), does one actually have to commence the journey there/travel through there, or can you buy on site there and start/finish somewhere else?

Apologies if this has been covered earlier/elsewhere...
