RTW Fare Update
 
The new oneworld desktop timetable contains a RTW function complete with all fares. I've updated my RTW fare spreadsheet with the data culled from this file. As this is coming from oneworld, I would assume these fares are correct. The fares for Slovenia look too good to be true though... I feel a weekend in Ljubljana coming up!

Exchange rates have also been updated.

Is LJU not another of those "fares are low because no OW airline operates from there" cities?

Oh, that's a depressingly good point. There might be a window of opportunity when Malev joins, as they operate LJU-BUD. That would still constrain the options for a RTW as you'd probably want to get to LHR or another major port to connect to long-haul flights.

It was a fun thought while it lasted.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the prices listed above are amounts prior to Nov. 2005. Prices went up at the beginning of November or there about. An example of current fares from North America are an AONE4 at $10,400, DONE4 at $8300, and LONE4 at $4100.

Note to mention as well that there are no OW flights to Djibouti since the BA/Regional Air fiasco early this year. Somehow, I don't put much faith in what's on the OW web site. If they can't have correct information about one of their main products, can you trust anything else on the site.

Yeah, the oneWORLD data file is dated 21st July 2005; there have been seveal known increases since then.

However, at least there are updated prices for some of the more obscure origins.

Aha. That'll be why the DONE3 from Sri Lanka was suddenly much the same as from Warsaw. Still reasonably cheap but not the bargain it was before. Rats. Pushed me onto the ex-BKK EK/UA rtw which was not ideal

If that's the case, can you point us to a more reliable source for the latest base fares? It seems that there are no more 100% certain sources available, other than contacting one of the airlines in the planned country of origin...?

I am not aware of any current rescource available that does not require gross expenditure. (Like becoming one own TA.) :(
