Apologies if this has been covered earlier/elsewhere... You're also right that this has been covered, reading the sticky FAQs could provide you with some fruitful info. |

Yikes!
Am I seeing this right... Is Egypt like doulbe AONEX from what it used to be just 2 or so years ago?
Really seems like OW is closing the noose on the very low cost countries. Guess I shouldn't have waited this long to really start planning out a RTW :( What are the "realistic" best options? I see the price list, but are the lowest cost places doable? (PM me if discretion is needed in reply) ps - I currently have enough award miles to get myself anywhere in the World I would need to go to get this thing started. |

I have a different stupid question than tallboy - can you blow off the last leg(s) that get you back to your origin? So if people are buying in Thailand or wherever, can they fly west around the world until they hit the US and then just stop? Thx!

Realized I had one more (and I am reading up on the FAQs and searching)... none of the rules are exactly clear on if overland segments are allowed. I assume they are, because the desktop tool seems to allow you to add them, and places like Airtreks supports them?
Thanks! |

Thanks! the concept of rtw tickets is to travel 'round the world'. starting in asia, but stopping in usa is not a 'round the world' trip. again, with a few exceptions (middle east, africa, south america, usa/canada), one must end a trip in the same country as where one began the trip. |

I get the part about not wanting to 'give up' a trans-pacific.
But what do you mean by risk? If for example my start was bkk and it ended with scl-jfk-hkg-bkk and I decided not to take the last segment (hkg-bkk) and end at hkg. What could they do? Tell me I didn't complete the RTW that was ticketed and i owe them money? Doesn't sound right.
