The lowest at the moment are ex-OSL and ex-Japan. Ex-CMB isn't a whole lot higher and could make a compelling case as well.

There's actually another thread for pricing discussion though https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/onew...periences.html

If you just want a 3 continent then ex Japan may be worth considering, given the lower surcharges. DONE4 is much cheaper ex osl though, probably outweighing whatever you save. Though honestly most people factor in what carriers they want to fly which will determine where they start.

We booked ex-OSL on QR

I tried searching but couldn't find an answer....

I'm planning a DONE3, and when using the OneWorld booking tool, once I get into the flight selection screen (after it tells me my itinerary is valid) it is telling me that a maximum of 5 stopovers are permitted on itineraries under 26,000 miles (I have 8). Unless I'm blind, I don't see this listed in the actual rules document and I don't see that listed in the wiki. Is this a tool bug or is this an actual rule?

Again, the oneworld tool online is faulty.
This has been stated many times across this forum that the tool is not reliable for anything rule-based.
Please consider using a travel agent or contacting an airline (AA is one option).

The booking tool is thinking you are booking a *GLOB* distance based RTW ---> https://www.oneworld.com/round-the-world
That may or may not be a real error. That error message can also show when you have a error in *ONE* itinerary.
What is your route / airlines?

Wasn't actually trying to book - just wanted to get a fare estimate with taxes and fees, which I know can vary significantly. I figured it was probably a tool bug but wanted to check with the experts here, in case I was missing something.

Thank you, now that message makes sense in that context!

I will certainly not attempt to book on my own when it is time to book it, but will work with an agency.

I want to credit to BA but not sure what the nTPs would be. I think if I rang BA to process it would the mileage be 21067/2 =10,533.5 =307 for the AA flight = 10840 total for a cost of £4,179.00 /10840 getting a very respectable 0.3855p per tier point. ??????????

Is this a Oneworld RTW *ONE* fare? (the topic of this thread)
Better to ask in BA forum as your question is about earning to the BA ffp

Wing It One World May 30, 2025 4:46 pm

Yes it is a done3 I'm not sure if anyone is going to be able to tell me, I'm really not sure BA would even be able to assist:) thanks anyway.

BA Tier Pts for AA flight would be based on price in £ for that sector. You can estimate that amount by taking the (Miles for AA segment / Miles for entire trip) x Base Price in £ of DONE3 Ticket.

For the other airlines here's a link to BA's Avios and tier point flight calculator.

There may be members with greater specific BA nTP earn experience who frequent the BA Club forum more than here.

Maybe ask your query in these largeish threads on nTP earning:

I had a similar case on my recent DONE3:

The number appears to be calculated by allocating the base fare to segments according to distance. spending = base fare * (distance travelled on this flight / total distance in the booking).

My xONEx calculator is reporting about 10554 nTPs on your itinerary, but it may differ based on your starting point (base fare, actually).

Best to discuss this in the ba forum.

Saw that the latest rules now have Fiji Airways added:

First / Business / Economy RTW / Open Jaw travel via AA/AS/AT/AY/BA/CX/FJ/IB/JL/MH/NU/QF/QR/RJ/UL operated services worldwide
Along with HA being absorbed into AS next year, constructing a route is going to be even easier - just add a stopover in Fiji, or Hawaii, with plenty of connections to both!
