Status Privileges when using partner airlines
I am a Gold Member with American AAdvantage. which is Ruby on Oneworld.
Organizing a new trans Atlantic trip from Miami to London I have booked a BA flight with BA.com and linked in my AA mileage account to the booking to get miles.
As a Gold AA member flying American I get Priority access and early boarding when booked into coach / economy tickets.
My question is do I get to use these or similar privileges for my World Traveller trip to London with BA ?

Great. Check-in is good.
So if I get this correctly I can check-in at the business class area of BA at the airport.
I have two companions also on the ticket (no tier status for them). Will they be able to join me ?

A brief overview of what Oneworld status gets you is here
http://www.oneworld.com/ow/ffp/oneworld-status
Priority checkin is a benefit for Ruby, but boarding isn't. There's nothing published about how many accompanying pax can take advantage of checkin benefits, but 2 should be ok.

My FFP expressly states that for Ruby you can only check yourself in at a premium counter but for Sapphire you can check with an "acompaante" (companion)
That is their supposed interpretation of the OW benefits for elites
As brenc3 says though, OW doesn't mention anything about additional people

This is of course based on my experiences and opinions but I do not know how it is said in the rules. I think you should be fine.

Universal OW Ruby benefits only seem to be premium check in and priority luggage tags so I don't see how BA's lack of Ruby tier would affect Ruby members from other OW airlines

Surely that is only a problem for BAEC members that would have got low tier elite status were they members of other OW FFPs
