The Status Match Master Thread

I don't live by a hub. But the reason is that NW is top heavy IMO and direly need to thin the herd. Markets like SFO are just awful for upgrades as that city has too may Platinums. I figure a four tier program might be better for me due to my heavy mileage.

I found out some interesting information from my corporate travel agent about status matches from UA and NW. Apparently they have some very, very limited ability to get some 1K comps, but at our company these are limited to a few high level execs. I didn't make the cut and so they would only offer to get UA to match Prem Exec (which I obviously could get on my own by faxing UA). For NW there is a much greater pool eligible for comp/match to Plat, many people in our company get this, even some from mid-tier in other programs. In the end, even my 200k+ with NW year to date and a high portion in WBC was not enough to get 1K match on UA.
Well if you cannot get it at 200k I can see that I have a snows ball's chance in hell of getting it. I wish NW would do something for guys like us. I've suggested at the least, they could lower the mileage required for upgrades and we hit 100k. So we'd only need 5,000 miles v.s 15,000 miles for an upgrade - or something like that. At least there would be some carrot to keep flying them.

Do I qualify for an AA or UAL status with US Air Silver?
I don't travel as often as I used to, but I got US Air Silver status from many 2005 flights, lasting until Feb 28 2007. I won't get it again for 2007. I wasn't aware of status match until I saw this.
I would really love to get an elite status with AA or UAL for 2007 with my US Air Silver. I am a bit worried though the match would only last until my US Air one ended, or that they might not match me at all since my 2006 flying was pretty limited and spread out.
I do a lot of travel in spurts, and my company always buys those $1200 refundable tickets, and lets me go first if it isn't too much more. Would it help if I showed them I only fly full fare?

AA dont do status matches and UA is in *A with US so no chance there !
If you plan to fly a specific amount of miles within a range of 90 days (maybe in combination with holidays) you can enroll in a Gold- or Platinum Challenge. Details about the challenges are quoted here in the AA forum !

Hi everyone! Following the advice of other forum members, I was easily & quickly able to get Delta to comp me Gold Medallion status (based on my UA 1P status). I FAXed my request to the general Delta SkyMiles service center (404-773-1945) on Tuesday, and they had updated my status by Friday!
I just made 1P on UA within the last month, so I didn't have a 1P card or printed statement to send in... but no matter. I included just my request and a printout of my YTD flights from united.com, and Delta seems to have been fine with just that.
Happy flying!

AA vs LH
Good morning friends !
I consider to change from OneWorld to Star Alliance since my company changed travel policy.
I live in Scotland and there are daily flights with Lufthansa to FRA which I would prefer over LHR to change planes to the U.S. !
How are the chances to recieve a status from Lufthansa with my current AAdvantage Platinum membership?
Is there any contact available ?
Thanks in advance,
Tom

NWA Status Match Phone Number
Does anyone have the fax number for this.
UA has pushed me over the edge, and I am going to use some smaller airports and fight DTW and MSP next year instead.
Plus I am getting sick of the restaurants in ORD

Southwest "status" match?
Hello all,
Been lurking for awhile, learned lots. Thanks!
Maybe this a dumb question, but I can't find any references either here or elsewhere on the internet: is it possible to "status" match using your southwest history? I flew ~ 40-45 southwest segments last year. Although I actually love southwest, I just wonder if I could be using my segments to upgrade on another airline, specifically Alaska. Anyone know if my flight history (in competing markets, ie OAK-SEA, OAK-SAN/LAX, OAK-PDX) would be enough to get a match from alaska? I'm not inclined to switch my business if I have to do it the hard way - I already know I can get my exit row aisle seat by showing up early enough @ SWA...
Thanks!

Try doing a search on the Lufthansa forum and you'll be quick to find that the answer to your question is basically , "NO".
LH does not status match. But being in the UK, BD Diamond Club will.

I'm with TG and my status has been earned entirely through UA, so I'm going to try and persuade them to give me some sort of status. Is there an email address I can contact them on, or is it all through fax and post?
