dl how long
how long for a match from Delta after fax is sent?
thanks got a trip on the 20th and hope it makes it by then! |
I'm sorry, this is a long thread and by skimming I probably missed the exact answer.
I have gold status with 2 *A airlines (TG ROP, and from my next flight this month, BD Diamond Club). I'd really be able to make great use of Skyteam airlines (specifically KLM) but would only be interested in jumping ship with a status match. What is the latest on which, if any Skyteam members would status match TWO *A golds? And out of interest as BA is also an option, which OneWorld might also be interested in my business? |
It probably took me around 5 days.

I read further up that delta is not doing status match but then a couple of posts ago someone said 5 days. can anyone confirm either way and is there a fax no thanks:cool:

What is the key date for submitting a NW Status Match in order to get the status for the remainder of 2008 plus all of 2009?

Suggestions for status matches???
I may be going a little overkill here, so I’m wondering what others would do…
Having been an AC Elite status flyer for many years and have already re-qualified for 2009 I now find, due to work, that more than half of my travel will originate within the US to mostly international destinations (some in J, most in discount Y). I thought I’d try a status match with AA – which I will complete for PLT next month. Unfortunately, I don’t have much control over the flights that are booked (although so far I’ve managed to keep things to either oneworld or *A) – so – I now find myself ticketed on a few UA flights out of NYC (including a J class to from JFK-SYD). My question: Knowing that most of my travel will originate in the US should I also try for a UA status match? Meaning I would have an AC*E an AA PLT and a United whatever should they decide to match me. (Regardless, if I credit my JFK-SYD flight to my Mileage Plus account -- given UA’s bonus elite mile promo right now -- I will make their lowest tier.) However, I know my travel on AC will not suddenly stop, so should I just credit the UA trips to my AC/*G account and not spread things too much around? (Although I have entertained the thought of leaving AC for a little while…) Is it counterproductive to go for a higher status on another airline in the same Alliance? Given strange travel patterns – especially when calling two countries home -- how many elite memberships is too many? Thanks! (P.S. Don’t worry – I’m not also going to try for SkyTeam… ;)) |

If they're like UA, I would guess July 1.
a NW PE. Are you saying she should apply before July1 or after July 1 to benefit from UA status for 2008 AND 2009? |

You'd want to do so on or after July 1.

I was status matched to UA Premier Exec and reached 10k miles.
I never received four e500 upgrade credits though and it was all UA metal. The rep told me that during the 90-day status match, even though it says I receive all the benefits, I won't earn the upgrades. Is this right?? |

ADVICE NEEDED for status match
Hi In September, my partner and me will be moving from Geneva (Switzerland) to New York City. We need to re-think our FF startegy ! I am Flying Blue (AF-KL) Platinum, BA Gold and will be LH Senator in a few weeks time (Silver for the moment). I have just lost my status with United. I am flying in business class when over 6 hours of travel. From NY, I will be flying to Africa and to Geneva. My LH status will be important for that (SAA, LH and Swiss). What is new for me will be the internal US travel (including often Sarasota, FL, sometimes LA, Washington DC and Seatle) , a bit of South America and a bit of Asia. I would like to have status with a US airline, mainly to acces the domestic upgrades. Would CO be the best choice for me ? They are flying to Geneva too. For the moment I am using my AF-KL card for upgrades on NW but would like to fly direct when possible. My partner is Gold with BA and Silver with LH, and will be mainly flying to Geneva (economy !) and domestic incl.to Sarasota FL. Any advice will be welcome, Herve |

CO (and at least previously US) seems to be the only major "legacy" US airline that status matches up to and including into their top-tier. (AA, DL, UA and NW are -- to say the least -- certainly far more reserved in considering such top-tier to top-tier status matches.)

Hello everyone,
I got great information here , even I was searching for somewhat this kind of information only....:. |

Does anyone know if this is still the case. I need to move status over to Sky Team due to a change in my work travel to a destination where Sky Team is stronger. I am matching from 1K at United and although I know One Pass has its downsides, matching to Plat is an incentive to choose them.

Does anyone have an updated fax for CO status match?
Looks like the number on page 1 is outdated. Thanks |
Have we reached the key date for NWA status match requests to be effective through 02/28/2010?
|
I thought the date to maximize matched status time was July 1 for pretty much everyone... i.e. match on July 1 '08 gets you 20 months, 07/08 - 02/10.

Will NW/DL Merger off a chance for a "free" status match ?
As I understand it, Skymiles will be the surviving program, and Worldperks is going away.
So, I'm wondering if asking for an NW status match this fall might be a way to get a "free" status match. Presumably NW status will be grandfathered into Skymiles, but I'm thinking that thsi might not count as having burned the "one time" match for a possible future Delta match. Of course there is no way to know for sure, and so it would be a gamble. Earlier this year I switched much of my flying to AS & UA. My CO status (earned mainly on BR & VS) has gotten my UGs on NW when flying NW was convenient - but presumably that arrangement will disappear with the merger, and it looks like CO will be out of ST soon as well. So, I'm thinking that going for an NW match through 2/2010 later in the year may be worth the gamble - get a few MW/DL UGs next year, and hopefully be able to do a "New DL" match "for real" some time down the road of I ever wanted to switch from UA. Thoughts ? |
Does Delta match Qantas status?
Tried search and nothing came up so apologies if this has been asked before but:
Will Delta match Qantas status? If so, I'm likely a few weeks away from reaching Platinum (top tier) with Qantas, presumably it would be worth waiting for that before looking to get status matched... Thanks |
Delta may match Quantas Platinum, but it would only be to Delta Gold Medallion. Delta does not match to Platinum Medallion (outside of a very vew extremely high revenue cases).

LH SEN to Oneworld
Hi!
I'm LH SEN / *G and like to match to a reasonable Oneworld airline. My main intention is to put the few miles I'll earn on OW to good use by redeeming an award ticket to IPC. Qantas miles appear to not expire and might be a good match although I'm based in HAM/Germany. Does Qantas match? Which other airline should I look into? LAN? Thanks! |

Thanks for the link. Just wanted to make sure that's still the case. If any mod reads this, the CO fax is no longer in service. I'm planning to just send my credentials to [email protected].

Re-Match??
Hi folks,
I know it´s a bit odd, but is it possible to get re-machted. I had a status match with BD and CO two years ago. Possible to get another match - maybe under a new address? I have this year some *A flights so it would be useful. |

AirTran Elite Status Match to Delta Silver Medallion
I just received a status match of Silver Medallion on Delta to my AirTran Elite status.
I faxed a letter to 404-773-1945 stating my case. I also put together a spread sheet for my AirTran flights over the last 12 months and calculated the Delta equivalent of miles which came to about 56000. I also stated in the letter that I already had 12000 MQMs on Delta so far this year and had several more flights booked. It only took one day for the match and it showed me as Silver when I logged in. (I didn't receive any email notification). What was faxed: Letter AirTran Elite Card Copy Delta SkyMiles Card Copy Current Delta Statement printed from the Web Current AirTran Statement printed from the Web Spreadsheet of previous 12 months of AirTran flights with their Delta mile equivalent |
c$13 - great news and congratulations. Welcome to Flyertalk.

I agree completely with your analysis. As you noted, there is no guarantee, but because there is little downside even if it doesn't work as we think it will, I say you should go for it!

QF to SQ?
Anyone know if SQ will match with QF for change of program? New Qantas Frequent Flyer program is laughable! I have made 2140 status credits with Qantas this year and all my travel is in First Class.
I really think it's time to put Qantas to rest and start afresh with *A, I have a large travel schedule ahead of me in December and would be willing to forefit the cancellation charge on OW for a shot at getting in with *A James |
