Does anyone know if CO would match my NW status? I know they are partners but in the light of the recent changes I would like to move from WorldPerks to OnePass?

So I called up one-pass and like you mentioned they said they don't do status matches for NW or Delta...I guess I could wait or give them a try again and tell them what cerealmarketer mentioned...

All the best! Arie Thank you for contacting Northwest Airlines in regard to upgrading your WorldPerks account, . A variety of criteria, including information from your British Midland Airways mileage summary, is considered when evaluating requests from members to match elite status from another airline. After reviewing the information provided to us on your FlyBMI account, your Northwest WorldPerks account has been upgraded to Gold Elite status. This one-time complimentary membership upgrade will remain valid through February 28, 2009. |
Yea, I just got the same thing. Requested match on July 5 and got matched to Gold Elite on NWA, but it's only good through Feb 2009.
|
It looks like USAir's status buy program expired 6/30/08.
www.Usairways.com/preferred no longer offers status for a price. So what is US doing for status matches or purchase these days? |

UA Fax #
Just as a note to anyone on here:
I called MileagePlus customer service to ask for the fax number and they gave me (605)-343-4104 which did not work. The number I got out of this thread however, did work properly (605)-341-6140 |
NW Plat until 2-09 - won't be extended... :(
Hi All!
Here's the letter I wrote back... Dear Ms. H! Thank you very much for this wonderful news; I am very grateful for the consideration Northwest has given my request. I am already booked on two flights with Northwest (PNRs: AAAAAA and BBBBBB) and I am very much looking forward to enjoying getting to my destination on Northwest as well as the benefits that Platinum Elite status will give me. One question - I have very little time (less than 6 months) to ensure that I remain a Platinum Elite member. Without question, my goal is to maintain this status indefinitely, but I am concerned that due to the lag in my request that I will end up losing this valuable benefit. As a result, I was hoping that the period I have to fly to maintain Platinum status could be extended or alternatively that the period for benefits be changed from between 10 July 2008 and 31 December 2008 to 31 Dec 2009 which would give me a full year to generate the required flights and ensure uninterrupted benefits. Any additional consideration you could give to this request would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Arie WP Member #000000000 -and- here's the response I got back: Dear Mr Arie, Thank you for your recent e-mail. Your Platinum elite status ends on 2-28-09. WorldPerks Elite is an annual program based on flights accrued in a calendar year. Silver needs 25,000 miles or 30 segments, Gold needs 50,000 miles or 60 segments and Platinum needs 75,000 miles or 100 segments in order to qualify for Elite status. For information regarding elite Qualifying Segments and qualifications for the Elite program, please visit our website at htt://www.nwa.com/freqfly/elite/overview.html If you have any additional questions, concerns, or need further assistance, please let us know. Sincerely, BC WorldPerks Customer Service Center Sounds pretty final to me, but of course if anyone knows someone or gets a better answer - please post it or message me. All the best, Arie |
Looks like, for NW, you need to be much closer to the end of the qualification year than July. For my Oct 2006 status match request, my welcome email included this paragraph:
Due to the timing of your 2006 complimentary Gold Elite upgrade, please be advised that your Gold Elite membership will be continued through the 2007 program year - March 1, 2007 through February 29, 2008. You may expect your credentials for this program to be delivered prior to March 1, 2007. |
I just got nicked with the same thing from NW. Sent in my packet on 11JUL08 and got word today that I was matched from AA Plat to NW Gold but only through Feb 2009. I'm willing to bet that NW doesn't want to match guys past that on account of the upcoming merger finalization. I'd be interested to see if anyone is able to get Feb 2010 on a match. I also commented on this over in the NW forum, so we'll see if anyone has any insights.

Status match help needed UA to AA (Rookie Q.)
I know I know, I should do the research and find this info myself, but there are 100 pages to go thru, and I've got an upcoming flight on AA, and it's 95 degrees and humid outside.
I'm Prem Exec on UA, is there a # to call to get them to bump my status from a total Zero on AA to a somebody? Are there certain airlines that are easier to have match our UA status? I'm Silver on USAir if that means anything. Thanks!! |

It has generally been reported that NW would only match up to 2nd tier. So, that at least is a consolation for amenachem, and definitely a double reason for me to hold off until much later in the year when I hit UA 1k, and may hope to get the match thru 2/2010. |

So, yes, it is nice to have the extra 25% miles and NW upgrades 5 days out - but there is very little chance that I will be Plat in 2010. Now I have to figure out who to try and get to Gold with. I can't credit both Delta and Northwest for my ST flights. On the other hand, if the merger goes through - would they combine the EQMs/MQMs? I would tend to doubt that... I will probably go with DL only because I already have about 5K MQMs with them and there's a good chance that I'll get another 10K with the Skymiles AMEX (which saved me last year and propelled me into Gold). Problems, problems... ;) Cheers! |
AA/CO to Delta?
Hi All!
I currently have AA Plat (Equiv to DL Gold) and CO Plat (Equiv to DL Plat) status and am looking to get a Delta Status Match. Can you please tell me.. 1) What is the highest status they will give me? 2) How do I go about getting the status matched? 3) How long will the status be good for? 4) If I would match CO to United and then United to Delta would I have a better shot at getting DL Plat? Thanks! |
Ua -> Co
Have UA Prem Exec status. e-mailed the requested documents over, and they reponded within 2 days and matched to Gold. ^
Unfortunately, just received the card today, and it's good through 2/09. :( But they did give me 4 drink coupons. ^ |
Aa -> Us
Yeah I'm crazy and hoping to get to fly AA for work, but with their cutbacks US has a better schedule. How do I get a status match from AA Plat to US something?

The good thing, though, is that you get gold status with only 5,000 points (not miles, points), so I was able to do it in P class on a single trip between California and Missouri. Platinum is 10,000 points, so without some very creative routing its going to be multiple trips or something overseas. |

Matched from DL GM to UA 1P. E-mail on Saturday, received reply on Sunday. Challenge is involved.
Your status will be effective for 90 days. To keep the status through January 31, 2010, just earn 15,000 base flight miles or 18 base flight segments on United, Ted or United Express within 90 days of being granted Premier Executive status. Once you meet that threshold, a Premier Executive kit will be generated and mailed to you |

Status Match Advice - how to get from NWA to Delta
I have been lurking for about a month and have read through many of the related posts and am looking for some quick and hopefully easy advice, from some of the more knowledgeable members.
My goal is to obtain mid-tier (Gold) Delta status without a challenge, valid though the end of 2009/early 2010, for my wife and I. Silver status is ok, but really can’t complete a challenge right now. As we live in MSP, and will not be relocating, we travel mostly on NWA. However, with the merger and rumors the WorldPerks is going away plus the pending expiration of our gold status, I think the timing might be right to status match over to Delta. The idea is to extend our gold status for a year through the merger and we can then work on building/maintaining status on Delta. We are both NWA Gold expiring in Feb 2009, HHonors Gold and use NWA credit cards (considering Amex Platinum for access to clubs). We’re willing to switch/organize to maximize travel benefits. My wife travels a bit for work – should be able to maintain high silver to low gold (about 50k miles). I travel a bit less now (very little this year and guessing about 20k next), but have been known to book a mileage run if needed (MSP to LGW to hit gold). Our travel is fairly random – she goes to New York and West Virginia for work once per month, we hit Vegas and Mexico a couple times a year. Here’s what we like – expedited security screening, upgrades to first class (will buy with miles), bonus miles. We like to travel and expect that leisure travel will pick up a bit. We’re ok with a registered traveler program if it helps expedite screening. My idea right now is to status match from NWA to United (or another airline not related to NWA/Delta) and then status match back to Delta. This is based upon the “non-poaching” rules between NWA and Delta. Ideally, I like some overall advice to maximize benefits. However, with the airline’s revenue pressures and cuts in benefits is my idea just a pipe dream? |
AA Platinum -> CO Gold
Emailed in my request for CO to match my AA Plat (which already goes through 2/10) at 11:53 and received responding email, with match, at 12:47. 54 minutes! I used onepass at coair.com.
The email kept me in suspense, but when I logged in I found they had made me Gold. No expiration date that I can see - I guess I'll have to wait for the mailed packet. I'm hoping it is also through all of 2009. |

They requested a copy of my AAdvantage Platinum card (which shows my number and the expiration date) and a current printout of My AAdvantage account. Then I wrote up an email that included my reservation info for an upcoming 7200 mile roundtrip, explained how American made me fly many more miles for the same destination, and listed a few more planned trips. I think I'll earn the 50,000 miles next year and I said so.
I got an email back from a "OnePass Partner Liaison Representative" telling me "it is my pleasure to inform you that your request for Elite status has been granted", and when I logged in to CO my account said Gold. |

Another NW Match to '09 only
Just adding more personal experience to the thread for those looking to match this year. Faxed AA materials to WorldPerks fax number indicated elsewhere in the thread, 7 full days later got an e-mail response that I had been granted Platinum Elite. However, the status was only granted until Feb. 28, 2009. I better start enjoying soon!

AA Exex Plat -> CO
I probably should have done this long ago, but now that the route eliminations have made it mandatory I went ahead and sent an e-mail to CO One Pass asking if they would be interested in having my business.
My only problem might be finding my actual Exec Plat card. I never use that darn thing since I have the number memorized. Maybe a baggage tag will suffice...@:-) My next step will be to get my recently renewed Admirals Club membership canceled so I can switch that as well. Any advice there? |
Same result as a previous poster, with some travel coming up next year on NWA/KLM I thought status would be a good thing to have. I mailed in my statement from AA with my ExecPlat stats, and about a week later received an e-mail letting me know I'd been matched at the Platinum Elite level. Quite a shock, I was anticipating the mid-level at best....but it expires on 2/28/2009...not sure how I'll get 75K miles flown in the first 2 months of 2009...should be interesting, curious as to see what happens on 3/1/2009 when I only have around 25K miles flown by then.

Disagree, CO will match without a copy of your elite card, a printed online statement will suffice.
