USAir status match

Traveller, I feel your pain! Although, it may not be Delta's fault, it isn't any less aggravating when you lose 4 hours of your life sitting in a sardine tin, and the first class cabin is practically empty.
I actually was thinking along the same lines last week, when I was considering driving to CLT from RDU. It is about 2hr drive. But what I may do instead is use CLT as my base (rather than my hub) and flying to/from CLT once a week, back to CLT for each flight during the week (most of my trips are day trips and about 2 hour direct flights from CLT)
Plus I have a friend in CLT who is going to let me use a closet to keep clothes in, and sleepover if I need too.
It's all about making your time in the air more pleasant (and productive), because you will never get those lost hours back - which makes me think, what the #@#@ am I doing wasting time replying to some of these posts??!!)
Ciao, have a great rest of weekend!

The first time you get a nasty mechanical and there is no plane in sight..for hours and hours..you will wish you were at that larger airport. Don't come on this board and whine when this occurs. You fail to see the intangibles...if you were really concerned with time, you would do more research. You are an amateur, at best.

Reason why I would continue to fly on USAir?
Tell me you are not going to reccomend I chose Delta over USAir... And I really doubt Delta could take over anyway because: 1) too many southerners HATE (not just loathe, but HATE!) flying on Delta...
To answer the other question, USair status matched me in 2001 also (with my Continental gold status). Still waiting on Delta's response.
I tried this with Northwest too, and they sent me a very nicely worded letter saying that they could not do that, since they partner/codeshare with Continental, and that they were sure that I would understand. I understand that I won't be flying through Memphis anytime soon!</font>

I too tried to get Delta to match my CO Plat status, but I never heard a thing. Not even a response.
And you bummed me out about the NW thing. I was going to try and do that so I could dump NonePass...looks like I am stuck...

No need to be an a****** to someone who's correct... US is obviously the right choice for the OP. And it's not like he'd be sitting at RDU for "hours and hours" - US's frequent flights to CLT would probably prevent this from happening. And actually, there's a better chance of a nasty mechanical if the OP connects through Atlanta, where he has twice as many flights on which things can go wrong.
Question - why try to play devil's advocate with this guy? I see you're US CP... why would you want him to be stuck on Delta?

NW will not comp CO elites except in very, very rare situations... but they probably will comp you if you ask them to match your UA 1P status, especially since Norfolk is not a Northwest hub.
Give it a shot... odds are that you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Have things changed that much since 2004?
BTW, in 2005, CO matched my AWA Gold status, without any fee or obligation.

I was CP all but one year since the program was invented (1997) and Preferred Plus (but at the CP milage level) before that - barely Silver this year due to a family trip to Hawaii.
