Not a fan of that 60+ age requirement. Seems like LH is counting on LH lifetime Senators' life expectancy.

I'm told you receive 3 SWU's for achieveing 1,000,000 BIS miles. Looking forward to reaching it next yr. Other than a one time recognition (3 SWU's) and having it listed in your status when dealing with UA you are only afforded UA Prem EX for life as it says.

I thought you also received something annually, like CR1s or E-500s. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Bubba

Welcome to Ft infiniteelite!

You have a great memory or elxe you are likely in the program. I am one of those folks who used Co during the "dark days" for the tough financial times and I did crazy things at my own expense to remain "gold" which as you recall was 75000 EQM/year at the time. The reward...Pt Elite for life for me.
Glad I made that overnight dinner trip to Hawaii now.

Why??

Priority Club status seems to be the most dubious of all the full-spectrum hotel families. Even they recongnize it, in that they've created Ambassador and then Royal Ambassador to go above it.

I've gotten just as many upgrades as a Priority Club nobody (before even Gold) by staying at the same hotel repeatedly, as in my two or three years now as PC Platinum. And it's just been documented officially in a letter reprinted as a recent post over in the Priority Club forum: PC hotels give better upgrades to frequent guests at that specific hotel, and dubious upgrades to people who are "merely" PC Plat but not frequent guests of that hotel.

Thus IMHO PC Plat is mostly just a way to get more bonus points.

Anyhow, while it's technically not lifetime, you can buy PC Gold status every year (it's only $50 so you could probably afford it for a lifetime, OTOH PC Gold status is worth even less so I'm not sure who considers it worth $50/year!).

IMHO the main benefit of Priority Club is the oodles of points you can earn if you follow all the promos (includes ones only documented on FT). That works equally well whether you have status or not. (And, as a side effect, it makes it fairly easy to earn status with not too great a number of stays a year.)

... Best Western has a lifetime status (Diamond, I think), but I'm not sure if there will be another way to get it in the future. This year (and this year only so far), they were offering it to anyone who had 60 nights (or was it stays?) in 2006 (too late to start on that now!), as a 60th Anniversary (of BW, not the GCCI program!) promo.

From the United web site: "As a Million Mile Flyer, you will receive:
  • A new Mileage Plus card that reflects your new Million Mile Flyer status.
  • Guaranteed Lifetime Premier Executive status.
  • Three Systemwide Upgrades (SWU), are automatically deposited into your account when you reach MMF status and can be used anywhere within the United system. Systemwide Upgrades expire one year after the date in which they are automatically deposited into your account."

Will Delta include US miles for lifetime status?

With the proposed merger, I wonder if DL will include miles flown on US for their lifetime statuses (or is it stati?)?

wouldnt DL have responded publicly to the merger if they were interested?

or is US looking to do a hostile takeover and are just saying "merger" right now?

US is trying to do a hostile takeover, and it's way, way too early to tell what a merged Skymiles/Dividend Miles program would look like. DM does not have a lifetime status.

Since when?

It used to have 1 million-, 2 million-, and 4 million-mile thresholds.

It still does. 1MM = Silver, 2MM = Gold, 4MM = Platinum. ^

Whoops. I was basing this on a quick look at the website. Do they have it documented?

Absolutely yes. Go to this page:

http://www.delta.com/skymiles/about_...ance/index.jsp

and scroll down to the bottom. (Not hard to find if you just enter "lifetime platinum" into their site search box.)

I guess they were referring to US Dividend Miles, DM, not DL!
