I am currently a SEN with LH, I will probably requalify for SEN this year. However I will also have some longhaul flights on Skyteam and Oneworld metal. What would be most convenient way to get a status in both of the alliances which gives my lounge access and priority checkin?

Status Matching to Non-US *G
 

Like everyone else, I'm looking to leverage my NW/DL Plat to a non-US *G program.

Seems as though I missed out on a recent Asiana status matching promo. :(

Are there any other ways to obtain a *G match with them?

Also, I understand, bmi now requires proof of future flights. Does anyone know exactly what type or how many they are needing to approve?

Any other carriers I should be considering?

Apologies if this is posted in the wrong place, but I was wondering about hotel programs (hopefully SPG) offering complementary status to airline elites? I'm CO Plat...any suggestions?

OK is doing a status match. Seems like all you have to do is fly one flight. That will take care of your ST needs.

UA Status Match
 

Hi FT'ers:

Just got off the phone with a United rep, as I want to have my Delta status matched. I was told that once they match my status I will have to fly either 7,500 miles or 10 flight segments in 90 days. If I do this, then my status will be extended until January of next year.

Is this normal? My first trip with United will get me the required miles anyway, so it is not a problem for me.

DL plat--- can I get matched by UA?

Fairly new to this and have never tried to match before. Currently I have DL plat, but going down to silver 3/1/2010. Am BA silver thru 4/2011. No status on Star Alliance.

I fly to Africa frequently and DL has changed routes such that UA and SAfrican may be better for me. Is there any chance that UA would match the DL plat, since it is expiring? If they did match, would they require certain mileage?

Any suggestions welcomed. I fly several times a year from US to LHR to Africa, or direct US-Africa (DKR, JNB).

do this all the time with *A carriers who offer partial but not full mutual recognition. The value of priority boarding and free bags, coupled with the need to allocate status miles to requal, is worth the two step. Helps fill in the time at the airport due to security screening!

I'm going to reach DL Silver in a few months, but I'm thinking about eventually switching to UA. When would be a good time to do the match? Should I wait until sometime next year?

I've read through most of the thread and did no find anything about this. I am PM on DL and have changed my flying patterns. If I get a match with CO, will DL know/care/take punitive action?

Not only will they not know, they will not care. This is a non-issue. :)

won't know/won't care/won't take any action- match if it makes sense but remember the one time only rule...

I too am PM with DL and am thinking of get CO to match. I read somewhere that if you match it after a certain date mid year, June? I can't remember, then CO will match you through to Feb 2012. Is this right? Appreciate any advice. Thanks
