What should my next move be?

This is weird. At least for CO, they send you an email confirmation that they have received your request and assign it a tracking number for processing. I got this email almost immediately after sending my request. The status match was granted 3 days later.

Does anyone have any experience which tier CO will give you if matching from BA Silver?

Lesson learned: My firiend who first got his BA Silver Status matched against Gold on DL, got his new DL Status matched with Gold on CO. I matched my BA Silver directly to CO, and got only Silver status.

Posted here last week contemplating a match to CO. Just wanted to add a data point. Emailed my DL PM info to CO late Sunday. Just logged into my CO account. I'm now a OnePass Platinum and a *A Gold. My first status match! Just called UA to change all my itins to my shiny new OnePass number. Great customer service and I will definitely look to push some travel to CO and *A in '10.

Continental supposedly not matching status with Star Alliance airlines

I just relocated from Phoenix to Houston, and gave Continental a call about a possible status match, as I am about to book several trips for the rest of this month. (Currently I am gold with US.)

Was politely told that they are not currently matching ANY Star Alliance airline status match requests... and the woman actually laughed when I told her that I would just keep using my US Air number. (I thought the use of the word "currently" was interesting...)

I'm going to have to use Continental quite a bit, but it sure doesn't sound like they want my business... or is it because they know I am stuck, since I just moved to Houston?

So-- one other question-- Is there any way to get my StarAlliance Gold mapped over to my CO number, so I will at least get the early boarding, etc.?

I have sent a polite email to the address noted earlier in this thread to see if I will get a different response, but I expect that I am just out of luck.

Welcome to FT!

It's typical policy for airlines of the same alliance not to poach another member's passengers. It makes sense that they would respect their fellow members customer base.

You'll be stuck with your US *A Gold status; it's not "transferable" or mappable to CO. However, if you are trying to merely gain access to the elite check-in line, there shouldn't be any reason why you can't flash your *G from US to get in CO's line (well, I don't think there is any, except the ire of actual CO elites). Early boarding is tough because your boarding group is based on your FF number. If you use your US number during online booking or online checkin, you will get priority due to *A, but you won't get credited the miles to CO, obviously. And if you put in CO, you won't be able to get the priority boarding.

A potential solution, not that I condone this or that it would work, is to first print out your BP at home with your US FF number, then at the gate, ask the GA to switch to your CO number (assuming you want credit on CO) before boarding. Then when it's time to board, use your online BP while keeping your CO BP for later mileage verification if necessary. Again, not that this is "ethical" or would even work, but it's a solution. One hiccup could be that your onlnine BP would be invalid after the GA prints a new BP.

DL Silver - BD?

Good-evening FT'ers. I am a Silver Medallion with DL (and have qualified for Sliver again for 2011 already). Is it possible for me to be Status Matched with BD (I guess it would be to Diamond Club Blue)? Also, it might be a silly question, but do I sign up to Diamond Club first and quote my number in the letter along with a copy of my most recent DL statement? Thank you.

Sounds like it's worth a try to me. I'd include a copy of your DL Silver card too.

I would try this promo first before you try to get your DL Silver matched... Should be a lot faster if it actually works.

One thing to note is that BD now require proof of either past BD flights, or future bookings on their metal. It's a very recent change as prior to that they would give you a Gold card as a status match to a 10m swimming certificate!

Malev matched my BD Gold

Emailed them a scan of my gold card, and an MA BP stub from last month, and given Gold (Oneworld Sapphire) within 1/2 an hour!!! Gives me all the benefits I need while I work my way up to BA Silver.
Excellent responsive service from Malev.

Any airlines in Asia match status?

UA 1K matched to DL Gold

Emailed Delta on 1/19 with a scanned copy of my UA 1K card and my mileage statement. Asking to match to Platinum and today when I logged in, I found I got matched to DL Gold.

A bit disappointed but I guess Gold is better than nothing.

Delta does generally not match to a level higher than Gold. A friend of mine is a US CP and was also matched to Gold. Fair enough.

BR matched my *G to its silver.

I read the terms and conditions and just have one question:
- do the qualification miles I earn in this three month period only apply to the remainder of the year, or do they earn status for 2011? It sounds to me like it only is for this year!
