This little game came and went a long time ago and was fast and furious when it lived... Sorry.

as for transfering miles between DL members:

NWA and UAL have this option too. It can cost but can be worth it depending on your situation. Always a good fail safe.

United 40K bonus miles flying to Europe. It's not that spectacular, but works out great for me. I normally never fly United, but I had 2 trips during that time period.

And DL Dash to the gate 10K. So easy. But it wasn't like last year's $150 for 25K miles, or fly once get silver (which I'm still benefits from).

Been kind of a light year for me promo-wise, but there have been some smaller good ones...

- The Delta Dash - that was an easy 30k: wife, daughter, and I. My 10k has already been monetized: time will tell if the other 20k will be, but I figure worst case I'll just goose those two accounts with an iDine and chances are they will someday turn into a small amount of value. If DL goes belly-up all the better: someone else will buy Skymiles, and chances are that'll be an airline I use. Considering I got the miles for playing a silly game, no complaints...

- Hertz kicking out big WN credit bonuses on weekly rentals.

- YX Mastercard: 22,500 miles, a $99 companion certificate, and six months' of 0% money ($10,000) - all for $105. ($49 annual fee, $50 vig on the $10k transfer, $1/mo. finance charge). Time will tell if the $99 companion cert actually has value, but just for the miles and six months of moolah, it's quite an offer.

- Not exactly a promo, but the fact that the market is awash in Marriott Premium Pounds and bonus bucks has paid nice dividends for me. And the Marriott EEO's continue to be an extremely valuable part of elite status.

- This fall, some nice car rental bonuses are abound. National - 2 rentals = 1 free weekend day. Hertz - bonus ZE1 on all rentals, some targeted 3-to-getcha-1 offers, and reduced redemption levels on Free Days. I think Avis is doing something similar as well.

- It isn't the juiciest hotel promo in history, but I will be hitting it hard this fall: Marriott double points everywhere starting on your 2nd stay after Oct 1. As luck would have it, I have a cheap weekend stay coming up (checkout Oct 2) followed by several business stays in Oct/Nov. Should be a good fall for hotel points.

- Hyatt FFN sounds nice, but I can't ever find a Hyatt. I'd divert two one-night Marriott stays over to Hyatt if one ever fit my travel plans.

I noticed much of what people list as best deal involves a possible ding on the credit report. Is everyone factoring that in as a potential cost?

This thread reminds me of those "best of" radio and tv shows that play in November or December, or even the "best of" magazines that are published when several weeks are still left in the year.

They are all better left until the year is over before creating the lists.

The City of Hope charities virtual walking where you get HHonors points for donating money to a breast cancer research charity. For approximately $50 (or slightly less), I'm getting a lot of Hilton points that I am using for Hilton and Scandic hotel nights that would cost $100 to $220/night.

Do you have a link for this? I'd be willing to move donations here if the benefits are good. I like win/win situations.

I vote for dash to the gate. 40K points in less than 5 minutes at the PC.

For me HHonors 3/5/7 stays gets 1/2/3 free nights anywhere - targetted but I already had the stays (almost all 1 night) booked. Then after completing I got it again for another 3 free nights
